Something I don't understand is why airlines don't fly the 747-400 into and out of Philadelphia International for flights to Europe, and why there's not yet any direct flights from Philadelphia to Asia. US Airways is supposed to start a route from PHL to Beijing in 2011(?)

Cargo 747's DO fly into Philly. Which makes it hard to believe that the passenger version of the 747-400 does not.

the pilot flared too much to start with. then when he touched down there was a heavy bump, and the whole aircraft shook from side to side. that is why it was a bad landing

Come on! You can't expect every landing to have perfect flaring! I would also like to add that after touchdown, the pilot actually raised the nose. . . Almost no landing is perfect. Planes are meant to land, it is not supposed to look pretty.

You obviously didn't noticed that that was a quite heavy crosswind landing, and most probably done on autoland anyway - the aircraft flared with as much pitch attitude as was needed to bleed off airspeed and complete the landing within the given conditions lol. (Do you have a frozen ATPL & fly the line? No, so don't try and judge - just carry on being a spotter / wannabee in the meantime son...) ;-))

TR on the A320 also = A319 & 21 and wrong: A319s have been on short-term lend lease. ;-)) Well, I wasn't aware you could do 'wrok' experience plane spotting at any airport while you're still at school, that's a new one on me. ;-)) By the way - I suggest you apply yourself at bit harder in your English lessons whilst still at school: a plural doesn't have an apostrophe (A319s - not A319's) - nor will you get very far talking in teenage text-speak ('wat eva') etc...bye bye sunshine. ;-))

I'm not 'dreaming' of anything: that WAS me filming on the jump seat (you take turns doing six circuits towards getting your type rating). The TR (type rating) for the A320 also means you're type rated on the 319 &21 as well - but of course, you'd have readily understood that were you actually a line jockey (and I can absolutley assure you my dear boy - I AM). ;-)) Bye bye.
