awe she's cute! love the intro too, that song is awesome.
My arab mare is rather large too and she pretty much stays that way! Now that she's in shape her stomach is more so 'with' her but she's still overweight, haha.
I once rescued a horse with a slight swayed back. We actually believe that it was caused by him being unhealthy and underweight, plus he was always standing/ be ridden in deep mud. It put a lot of stress on him, and combined with improper riding it affected his muscles. The more you work with her, the better her back will become. Jumping will do wonders. I can't wait to see more videos of her, shes AMAZING! Beautiful jumper!
Whoa, seriously?! A lot of old horses develop sway back. In Candie's case, you really shouldn't say poor thing, because she feels no pain. That's just how she's built. It's conformational. And no, it can't pose any health problems.
she looks great over the jumps! my cousin's horse (who i ride alot!!!) he is really HUGE (not like fat) and so all he has to do is just kind of trot over the jump... :-)
lol! No, the only thing Candie knows how to do is walk, trot, canter, stop, and turn. She has no idea what you want her to do if you ask her to move off your leg or anything like that. She's just a really hyper, fast pet. :)
She is sway backed because she has been obese for so long. She needs to be ridden and do lots of long-and-low work to strengthen her back muscles... If it isnt to late already.
But I have noticed a difference in her weight in this video compared to older ones so props on that :)
well it is possibly from that then too, obeseity and malnourishment can really affect a horses body. My horse was a rescue too, and he was very emaciated and sway backed but with enough grain and hay and hours upon hours in the saddle you now could never tell he was ever sway back :)
Hmmm..well I'll see how she does once I start working with her. I know she's getting enough grain and nutrients from the grass, so that isn't the problem.
Wait what? When we got her, her ribs were showing, and her hip bones were sticking out, so yes, she was malnurished and underweight. If I had a picture of her from then, you'd see.
thats what I saying! lol. When you first got her she was skinny and malnourished, obviously, she has been well fed now, and has regained alot of her fat. But, if she is not exercised then the muscle in her back cant be regained. So once you start riding her, Her sway back will slowoly become better over time
OHHHH!!!!!!! Gotcha! haha! Yeah, I'll let you know how she does while I'm working with her. I'll also upload videos of her progress, and we'll see if her back fills out any. :)
is she for sale???

When we adopted Candie from a rescue shelter, she was very skinny, sway-backed, and malnurished. Her back isn't because of her weight.

Im not saying shes not now, but before when you said she was skinny she wasnt. Her sway backed-ness is probably a side affect from that
