  • What is wrong with America? Why oh why oh why?! Money is all spent on war. Shame.

  • The difference is racial.

  • @scimath42 No, life habits. Their way of life is healthier.

  • doctors don't get rich in japan..I feel much more comfortable to be treated by a doctor who is not greedy for money!!!!!

  • Japan has a good Health Care system because they have a mixture of things that work. Like Freedom of Choice where the people can choose they're own Health Care insurer and provider.

  • Americans are getting SHAFTED by our insurance companies...and the fact we spend all our money subsidizing WAR and JUNK FOOD!

  • Americans just live to die! They love the polution, the greecy hamburgers, getting fat and lazy! They are a lost civilization! We will read about them in our history books! They will all die of heart attacks!!!

Other cultures live healthy, and active, and care about our planet. Those will be the ones who survive.

    Health plan or not!

  • More lies the avg. Jp goes to the doc. 15 times/yr. Only the sick elderly do. Most Jp have no time to be sitting all day in the hos. & we gen. go to the hos. for gen. care. There is a gov. controlled cap on cost but not treatment so we have to go again & again for simple procedures. To get your teeth cleaned you have to go twice. For a cold you have to go at least twice for full treatment. There`s good about the sys. though but the US isn`t going to follow the Jp sys. but the Brit. sys.

  • @paisleyyama At least you can go. I have had full blown flu for 3 days and never got medical treatment because its just not worth the costs for most of us in the USA.

  • @brown0187 Yes, I can go if I have the flu but, I usually try to tough it out rather than go to the doctor even though I have insurance.

  • Only pay a few yen when we go to the doc! Ha! I live in Jp. This man is lying. We pay 30% of the total bill & it will probably go up. 4% of income for health insurance? Ha! My husband`s company closed. We got $2000/month unemployment but pay over $400/month health care. That`s more than 4%. When wking it`s higher. As for the elderly, I took care of my mother-in-law & had to pay all doc. bills. The gov. didn`t take up our tab. This report is full of lies.

  • I'm sorry sir, but you are misinformed...Japan does have an empire like us..As of March 2009, Japan's population is 127,076,183[1], making it the world's tenth most populated country. Its size can be attributed to fast growth rates experienced during the late 19th and early 20th centuries

  • What I mean is a military empire where we have 150 bases in over 70 countries. All our money is being put into defense projects and wars. Not that I think that is good, but financially Japan has more money to put into health care.

  • it doesn't matter the only thing that matter's is the per capita that they spend and they spend less.

  • Japanese healthcare is very good. We here in the US should take a page from their book.

Unfortunately we won't because of market worship and the millions of unthinking teabagging morons in the country.

  • diet is also very important. the japanese diet is much healthier than the american diet, and this is probably a significant factor in long-term health care costs.

  • The Japanese government would govern much differently than the American government.

If I trusted my government I might be more open to a public health plan, but I don't trust them at all. They screw up, manipulate, and raise prices on everything they touch - health care "reform" would be no different.

The proposed bill supports that notion because at all levels, and in all ways it places government in control of any/all necessary decisions.

  • Hmm, interesting, isn't it?
