Also most tire patterns I see on tires have long tread patterns which this design would not work with. Would the entire tread have to be broken up into these little segments like you have in your diagram? Thinking over it some more I can think of ways to adapt conventional tread designs into some thing workable with these changes.
Interesting idea. I see how the gaps between the tread and the rest of the tire could help absorb some of the stress placed on the tire. But I have other questions rise in my head after watching this. With these little cuts in the tread would that make it easier for the segments of tread to break off?
I like the idea, but you could have explained it in 30 seconds.
