What I meant by " idealize 'it' " was both, Israel and the U.S. Both countries have cultivated free societies under the premises of the Constitution. Capitalism affords its patrons the freedom to exchange ideas, business the main ingredients for national progress via human ingenuity. The people who dislike America and Israel should take note of our prosperity and how we attained it. Israel is a haven for progress in a region that has destroyed itself with totalitarianism. US is built on logic.
I'm unhappy that my post from a while back was not approved. I am an Obama supporter, but I believe that the postings approved for this page are contradictory. Comments like "Free Palestine" and others like "Israel, our truest friend.." are examples. I believe that the US Constitution is a supreme work of logic and should be applied universally not at the expense of the US although we should be staunch supporters of its ideals as anyone. Palest's and other neighbors of Israel should idealize it.
the same discourse was held by his predecessors whther they be republicans, or democrats (all in favor of israel), so what is he going to change in all this? The amount of military support, or what.
I could answer every sentence in this address, but why would I do that. It is just not worth it.
This man will be the greatest leader the world has ever know...if you vote for McCain you're voting for 18,000 people to die each month becuase of lack of health insurnace. That's six 9/11's every month and you don't see any Republican's going to war over this. Vote Obama 08 and we will not only change this country... we will change the world!
NOTE to obama supporters: YOu won't know this because all your comments on obama-sponsored items are posititve, but negative (and not just hate-filled garbage) is being censored....heavily censored. Not mccain though....democrats only want you to hear their propaganda and not facts....or they would not censor these comments. (fingers crossed if this gets through).
Israel has been way too tolerant for way too long. They could just take them out with their #1 IDF air force, it would all be over in seconds, but no,, they keep trying to work something out. Plus, do you know that a majority of Muslim people are already living there in peace side by side with the Jewish people? It is just like it is in America, different races & cultures living side by side, but they dont show that on CNN now do they?
For the first time, he is looking down to read from a scripted speech. If you watch his other speeches, he never looks down, he isn't "reading". Here, he CLEARLY is. What does that mean???
In human history, very few times and very few people rise up from no where to represent and make difference to the well being of common man.
In a world hungry for a CHANGE, Obama defies all odds, discrediting the corrupt career professional politicians & the profiteers of the military industrial complex, while proving to the ordinary man that there's a better alternatives to fear, war, death and destruction.
Any wonder the man is being received as a new Messiah, every where in the world.
What I see in this man called Barrack Obama is what i haven't seen in any president in the world. His charismatic leadership and movement has made America proud. His rule will be the best ever.If only Americans can decide this time to leave jokes and politics apart. He is what can bring togetherness and lasting peace in the world. His emotional and wonderful speeches transcends cross-cultural and ethnic boundaries. He knows what can remake America's degrading image in the world. He has all what takes
Let me ask you Mr. Obama. If an Army came to your house with a Bulldozer and then build a wall to keep water and electricity out of your land, what would you do? This is what Israel is doing to the Palestinians.
the guy behind him made a face at a palistinian state. i don't agree with attacks on civillians as a muslim but he is ignorant or ignoring how isreal has abused palistinians and how isreal is seeking the destruction of palistinians. at the same time the is the least he has to say to not be labeled as an antisemetic
As educated Democrats who actually read about events around the globe, we are more than a little dismayed that Mr. Obama has pandered - extensively - to Zionist Israel when there are SO MANY Palestinians being victimized daily by their fascist regime.
Israel consistently breaks international law, mocks U.N. sanctions, has 100 illegal nuclear warheads, and laughs about its own control over U.S. politicians - so now, exactly WHY does Mr. Obama still see that nasty little country as the "victim"??
I am fully convinced that this man - if elected - has the needed broader global understanding, intrinsic will and the required approaches to restore America's shattered image. America! It is your return to embrace the vision of Obama.
It is all so predictable that anyone running for president must pander and support Israel. Poor little Israel, they are surrounded by 2 dozen Muslim nations and cannot defend themselves. How much money have they taken from the U.S.A.? It's time for someone else to adopt Israel, it doesn't have to be the U.S. Canada, U.K., Australia, do you wanna step up?
i really want mccain to be president, i wanna see what he can do, i belive he is the right republican america has been waiting for. on the other hand i dont feel obama is ready to take over as president i wanna see a few more years out of him, obama is pretty much all talk, but who knows! this guy could change the way americans see him and he might be succesful. he is young and inexperienced and has plenty of time for more political training. i dont have any disrespect for the guy.
I wonder if he mentioned to the people of Israel how he said he would negotiate with Iran without preconditions? Oh wait, thats right, he changed his mind on that. Does anyone know what his policy towards Iran happens to be today? I am sure it will change by tomorrow though and then again next and the week after that
you sir, is what America needs. Please when elected don't be bought out like other politicians. Please help the lower and middle class. We need change and you can do it for us!
I agree with you. Obama is what America needs, as well as the world. I can only hope he remembers his roots, and realizes how the lower and middle class has been forgotten or robbed in this country. McCain represents the will of the wealthy.
Well, that is up to the candidates themselves if they want to do it or not. Remember that no one is forcing them.

What if an american city would be bombed every day for 7 years? I wonder what United States would do then.
Haha, really? The two Israelis I know are upset that their candidates always kiss up to the Americans and that Americans never let Israel to solve the "palestinian question"
lol yea i guess so... its become almost lik a regular political ritual and obligation to do so... but then again u c they have to suck up and appeal to the jewish voters at home and moreover its simply an essential political route in the US these days with the power and voice of all the pro-israeli lobbyists and senators, etc.

siavash89, you are either full of ignorance, or bigotry to distort those numbers. The ratio of dead Palestinians is higher than that of Israelis for one reason. DISTORTION. you see, Palestinians have included suicide bombers, terrorists, bomb makers, and co-conspirators in their list of dead. they have also included people who have been proven to be alive in their dead list. Israel seperates combatants from non combatants. that is why the numbers are off. stop the lies.
I hope you will upload Obama's speech in Germany. It was great to see the 100,000+ crowd listening to him.
Americans should not forget that Europe needs the USA, likewise USA needs Europe as partners to create a better world. For that reason Europe loves Obama as he is reaching out to the rest of the world, while McCain only talks about wars.
That's true my friend. I belive in Obama, and also belive that it's time to change. The economy around the world is not going to good. Lets stop with the same old Bush, and get something new. Let's forget about race, and religion, and start thinking about our sons and daughters future lives. Let's take global warming, when did mcain even talking about global warming. Its not like its more important than war, but it something to bring up. OBAMA WE FOR YOU ALL THE WAY!
But, you shouldn't support Palestinian right to attack Isreal, which didn't even exist a hundred years ago, until they just walked in and took that land from the Palestinians? This is the one and only reason I will not vote for Obama.
Walked in and took Palesine?, go research something call the British Mandate of Palestine, they didn't just walk in, it had to do with the fall of the Otooman Empire in WW1, in which dozens of countries were formed, a lot in which there is civil strife, and if you knew anything you would know Palestine and Israel was one whole country, until the Eastern Roman Empire, also known as the Byzantine Empire split the country.
Barack is providing this nation with hope and vision. He seems to be truly committed to the welfare and healing of the people of America. I don't think McCain has a chance against such a force as this man, Barack Obama.
and what has Israel demonstrated in the occupied territories? i guess we aren't allowed to talk about that anymore
If Obama actually wishes to affect change and have peace, he has to ground himself in truth. he should not solely focus on the terrorist actions of depraved and desperate Palestinians, he should also focus on the terrorist actions by Israel against civilians in the occupied territories.
His recent one sidedness on this issue is embarrassing and disappointing. No aid to terrorists
Sen. Tom Harkin will be speaking on behalf of Obama at the National Forum on Disability Issues in Columbus, OH on Saturday. If you're in the area, check it out.
Great speech. I wish Obama would drop his unconditional fixed-timetable for Iraq withdrawal. So many of us feel it should depend on the situation on the ground.
The Leadership that Obama has shown and will continue to show inspires me as a democrat everyday to move forward toward our common goals. Even if we have some minor differences. Our plans are mostly the same: To bring about a 21st century of peace, stability and happiness to all people. For each and every life is invaluable.
why you americans love israel so much? is this the next excuse for war on iran. im just speculating and curious. im properly wrong but its good to be a skeptic. p.s im just here for the show
In you're book you talk about the experiences you miss when you fly on a private jet. I just got back from Israel and Palestine and you need to see the sadness on both sides. Both Palestinians and Israeli's live in insecurity in fear of terror. Did you go to Hebron or see the checkpoint at Bethlehem? Did you queue up with Palestinians in the West Bank as they suffer the indignity of questioning when moving about in their own land? You must see with sadness the Nakba (النكبة) on both sides.
I am so proud of you Barack. Keep p the excellent work. You make us all proud to be Americans and those who are not proud are just jealous. You have showed so much class.
Having a black president will help calm anti USA setiment. I think a muslim would rather kill a white person than one of the brothers.
However, I think Israel is doomed. Eventually one of the mideast countries will get a nuke & that'll be it. Sad for sure. Just to stand on a big rock & actually if they nuke it no one will be able to stand on the big rock for thousands of years so then what? How about a truce. The truce of the weak. What would Jesus do? Why can't we all just get along?
with all seriousness i think this guy is full of himself, he's switched on so many issues. I'll list 'em if you want me too.
Also hear me out gasoline is killing us at the pumps right. He has said he will not drill for oil. To ne it makes scence to drill now and cut the price of gas. So when we have the technology we can produce viable forms of energy later down the road.
Seriously any candidate who can get us out of the situation we're in now, I support 100%. And that candidate is Obama. Too bad I won't turn 18 until December. :(
With careful and deliberate negotiations, we can have peace there. The countries in that region need a steady and growing understanding that for the people near and far never foster any fear of a direct attack. That any religion or extremist group bent on terror doctrine that implies, or has no respect for other faiths must halt any design to force thus upon them. This core issue is why we struggle to keep peace in the Middle East. Hate groups do not build countries. Jobs and respect do.
Great job on posting this video so fast. Our future depends apon this man getting elected. Without him I fear this nation could never recover from 12 years under republican occupation forces. This is the most important election of most of our lifetime.
Obama is clearly intelligent enough to realize Israel's role in terrorizing Palestine's civilians, but seems only to condemn acts committed by Palestinians. There are two sides to every coin. It's sad to see the man has to maintain the American status quo for the purpose of appeasement.
Barack Obama is strong and smart.... At a time when the Republican leadership, for the most part, has made our country seem weak and stupid.... Do your thing Obama... I'll see you on the Tube tommorrow in Berlin rocking Europe and our Country.... Continue to fight, continue to speak, continue to listen, continue to learn... I'll keep registering more voters so you can pull off one of the biggest landslides in history....
It's sad that the lobby of israel is so strong that they have huge impact on Obama and any other US politican. i am absolutly not against israel but miss a stong political support of palestenians. they have suffered for so long and treated badly and need peaceful leaders of palestina need the same ideal and financial support as israel... check out financial fundings US goverment gives to israel and how much to palestina!
nevertheless, obama is the man that will change the US foreign policy.
I support Obama 100% but what he said also applied to the IDF too. The IDF has also been targeting Arabic civilians with missiles, rockets, and bombs and Obama should have talked about creating peace between all Arabic nations and Israel.
The problem in this war on terrorism is, that there is no army to attack, no country to assault, no military base to send an airstrike. They hide among civillians, in cities, everywhere. Cou cannot fight terrorists and hope that there will be no civillian losses. And I don't think you can win it the conventional way.
Israel never ever target civilians. do you know what would happen if Israel being a country was targeting civilians intentialy. that would be that end of the country and the end of the western support. hamas being a terror group with no responsibilities on the other end can do what ever they want. mosky stoping the peace process
ok your point is correct but if you dont agree with just a issue like this well you cant affirm you support him 100%, and let me say that for me your position is completely constructive.
aadk5475, I share your support for Obama; but you are wrong in saying the IDF targets civilians. If they did, there would be a lot more dead civilians. In 2007, Amnesty International, a very critical group towards Israel, did a study in which they found 9 percent of Palestinians killed are truely innocent. the other 91 percent were engaged in activities that made them fair game. just because someone does not have a weapon does not mean they are a civillian.
9 percent innocent are still 9 percent too much... or would you think it is ok that any other govt. kills your mam/dad because they wanna kill a murderer in your area? (this is not meant to be an attack against you... just my opinion.) you know what i mean. and by the way: yeah i'm for obama too
89031NV, 9% is too much. and I have criticized Israel for this. But you have the balls to apply a double standard to Israel!? Just to give you an idea of other countries fighting terror, the US has killed 22% civilians in Iraq, 19% in Afghanistan. Britain has 23% in Iraq and 27% in afghanistan. Israel's 9%, while still bad, is much lower than its counterparts. If hamas would stop using human shields, civilian casualties would be much lower than even 9%. oh, and fyi, in WWII, the count was 38%
I heard this enire speech and the Q&A on the radio today.
I am so excited at the prospect of a President Obama. His ability to convey his thoughts intelligently will be a welcomed improvement over the current POTUS.
what security threats israel faces?

Great speech. I wish Obama would drop his unconditional fixed-timetable for Iraq withdrawal. So many of us feel it should depend on the situation on the ground.

The Leadership that Obama has shown and will continue to show inspires me as a democrat everyday to move forward toward our common goals. Even if we have some minor differences. Our plans are mostly the same: To bring about a 21st century of peace, stability and happiness to all people. For each and every life is invaluable.

So when we have the technology we can produce viable forms of energy later down the road.
let me know what you think
Darthphill 3 years ago
Hmm.. I don't believe he is full of himself. Rather, I would say he has belief in himself, without being lost in himself.
I hope he has a sense of self-confidence and as one US Citizen that supports him, I wish him to continue to be exactly who he is.
Everyone should live in a world where they are happy to be who they are. In my heart, he represents that hope.

The IDF has also been targeting Arabic civilians with missiles, rockets, and bombs and Obama should have talked about creating peace between all Arabic nations and Israel.
aadk5475 3 years ago
Correct. Our policy should be neutrality, and peace for all.
SubmarinerAndroid 3 years ago
I agree, Obama is just saying what the people in that town want to hear. The blame should be on both sides.
Mignonchang 3 years ago
actually the idf targets terrorists which hide among palestinian civilians.
bialik123 3 years ago
The problem in this war on terrorism is, that there is no army to attack, no country to assault, no military base to send an airstrike. They hide among civillians, in cities, everywhere. Cou cannot fight terrorists and hope that there will be no civillian losses. And I don't think you can win it the conventional way.
l0rf 3 years ago
Israel never ever target civilians. do you know what would happen if Israel being a country was targeting civilians intentialy. that would be that end of the country and the end of the western support. hamas being a terror group with no responsibilities on the other end can do what ever they want. mosky stoping the peace process
ma11ohad 3 years ago
Arabic Nations and peace? In case you haven't noticed, peace isn't in their vocabulary.. They don't give a shit, plain and simple.
FruitpunchFTW 3 years ago
You are right that the IDF also needs to do all it can to avoid causing civilian casualties, but they do not target civilians.
They target terrorist who hide among innocent civilians. And those civilians should not have to pay the price for being surrounded by terrorists.
sazoulai 3 years ago
right on, obama's committed to peace for all.
jekyllmcgee 3 years ago
ok your point is correct but if you dont agree with just a issue like this well you cant affirm you support him 100%, and let me say that for me your position is completely constructive.
VanDerWaals2006 3 years ago
IDF has never targeted an innocent. Never!
gillipkin965 3 years ago
aadk5475, I share your support for Obama; but you are wrong in saying the IDF targets civilians.
BenJB07 3 years ago
9 percent innocent are still 9 percent too much... or would you think it is ok that any other govt. kills your mam/dad because they wanna kill a murderer in your area? (this is not meant to be an attack against you... just my opinion.) you know what i mean. and by the way: yeah i'm for obama too
89031NV 3 years ago
89031NV, 9% is too much. and I have criticized Israel for this. But you have the balls to apply a double standard to Israel!? Just to give you an idea of other countries fighting terror, the US has killed 22% civilians in Iraq, 19% in Afghanistan. Britain has 23% in Iraq and 27% in afghanistan. Israel's 9%, while still bad, is much lower than its counterparts. If hamas would stop using human shields, civilian casualties would be much lower than even 9%. oh, and fyi, in WWII, the count was 38%
