  • Wow! I love both this and your version of "You and your sister" Outstanding work!

  • @apemantus67

    Thanks. Shame about the Chilton.

  • R.I.P. Alex, you were a great songwriter and also a great ear in the studio for many bands.

  • @shiftleswhenidle Shame, that. He was one of the pop greats; wrote a whole lot of fantastic songs.

  • sounds so muuuch better with Brian so sad!!!! aghhh!!! so deep "everybody goes leaving those who fall behind"

  • the slight background noise totally adds to the ambiance of the song, fantastic cover!

  • this really is a great rendition.

  • Thank you.

  • Banal version. None of the feeling. You don't seem to be able to live the song. You obviously can't relate. and the recording's a mess.

  • I'm not prepared to get into smack to satisfy your high standards in art.

  • Chilton wasnt into smack downers and liqour

i,ve heard worse btw nice spacey keys

  • Thanks.

  • so wait, who sang this version?

Big Star did it originally right? Whose is this?

  • Mine: I arranged, played and sang it.

  • oh! I love it more than the original ;D

  • Thanks.

  • i've been thought this is original!

    very nice,dewex!

  • anyone got this song they could send me? its so beautiful

  • I put a link to the mp3 on my server in the video info.

  • Thank you so much, I really appreciate this. Your version is SO much better than the original. I feel you have so much more depth in your voice, it sounds so sad, but brilliant. Thank you again for the link :)

  • Listen to Pauline Murray and the Storm's version on youtube for a different slant.

  • This is possibly the bleakest song and production I have ever heard.

  • Exactly. I played this at a solo acoustic Halloween show last year, bookmarked by traditionally "scary" songs like "Season of the Witch" and "Sympathy for the Devil." I warned my audience that while not traditionally "scary," it was existentially terrifying.

  • Good for you, my friend. I hope they appreciated it!

  • Thanks, Sean. They did.

One question--in referring to the production--did you mean on the "album" or did you mean the audio on the video? In that, yes, It's bleak on here, but, as I think you're saying, it's absolutely chilling on "Sister Lovers" aka "Three." Cheers.

  • This is the original version, and for some reason the others bands (Placebo, This Mortal Coil) select it for made a cover! but well, honestly I like the 3 versions, but if you can, compare the voice in This Mortal Coil from 1984 with the placebo's version from 1999. Rock!

  • OMG! what is he shoveling? please dont let it be what I think it is

  • i like this version much better than placebo's. the version of this song by big star that i heard on the FIOS TV radio is much better and i cant find it

  • yeah, the one on big star's "sister lovers" is the best imo.

hope someone uploads that and "big black car" -- quite depressing though beautiful

(but I'm thankful for this video--like hearing different versions--love chilton)

  • placebo's is better

  • They had to take a lot of drugs to get anywhere near Chilton and still missed it by a mile.

  • Sin palabras

  • I like placebo's version better. :)

  • Mine cost less. Brian Molko is going bald.

  • Damn, this is such a beautiful song. <3

  • just great

  • This is such a beautiful song

  • it's not what he means!

  • Don't get this vid. love Alex though.

love this song. wasted face a sad eyed lie, a holocost...

  • Or, I could imagine the E being End, Empty, Eternal

  • Great!!!

  • Is that bloke on E ?

  • The significance of the letter had occured to me, but I hadn't the wit to do what you have done.
