Wow, that car has some balls! I hope my 83 300SD can get to that point at some time. It doesn't seem far off as it is now. I pick it up and trailer it home tomorrow morning. She needs lots of cosmetic work but she runs well.

wow that is a quick sd...I tweaked the alda and ip. well my mechanic did on my 85 300d. It was very very peppy! I sure do miss it. Sold it to dieseldon in Michigan 10 yrs ago and he still has it!

You can do the adjustments on ANY engine, although an engine in sound mechanical condition is important...

Great video, but is it mandatory to rebuild the engine completely to adjust the engine? Are slight adjustments also possible on an older engine?

This is a great video. I have the same car (although '79), your video has turned me on to a wealth of information - I had never even heard of this ALDA device before, my mechanic has never mentioned it!

Interesting...check out the 1991 350SDL 0 to 60 Video posted by Willber14...that's about 14 seconds....

Incorrect. The overboost protection circuit cuts in at 16psi. We increased the boost in 1psi increments and the car went faster everytime until boost pressure reached 15psi. 13 seconds is slow for a stock 617??? Interesting when there is a video of a 617 with 6mm elemnets and a Holset turbo that makes 145 RWHP and does 0 to 60 in 11 seconds. You are welcome to post a video in response....

15psi is too much. Anything more than 12psi is only reducing power.

Also, 13 seconds is slow for a stock 617.
