I love this video... just look how how the queen of England, the head of one of the most noble dynasties in history, is sitting down next to Brazil's president Lula. Someone who was born in one of the poorest, most deprived parts of Brazil. It truly shows that everything is possible. Lula went from the extreme poverty of north-east Brazil to becoming one of the most powerful people in the world. An inspiration for us all... ps: Go your majesty, you tell him.
The queen is another over paid english c++t, stupid old hag - and by the way i'm english and i'm sick to death with the class system in this country. She f++king loud every time she go down the mail in that f++king gold carriage of hers.
Maybe some of these anti Royalists should go and live in another country, we don't need them. .The Royals bring £millions into this country with tourism and and give employment to thousands. .. and are just like any other family. Thanks Mam..
People who say get rid of the Royal family...good luck trying to make up the millions they bring this country each year. We pay them the same amount as a loaf of bread in taxes each year, they give us millions back?
Furthermore, have respect for traditions our country was built on, disrespectful fuckers.
We would earn more in 'tourism' (not that our constitution should be a slave to the revenue of one sector) by opening up the castles and palaces vacated by the monarchs to the general public.
Have respect for tradition? Slavery and colonialism are also outdated 'traditions' of this country spearheaded by monarchs - should we bring them back too?
@MCJess Are you sure about that? Have you ever gone to a tourist and asked them why they visit London? Thats right, they want to hopefully see the Queen and her guards.
Your an idiot if you really think tourists would come to see Buckingham palace without the Queen, 'potentially' being there.
Too late for that, America seems to be doing it well enough without a Monarch.
How about you have more respect for this country, because most of this country support monarchy.
So you go around London asking tourists why they're over here, and they all seriously say it's because they hope to meet the queen? It's not the museums, the architecture, the history, the night life, the theatres. et al - it's the queen? That is completely absurd and I feel sorry for you believing it. Just because most of this country supposedly supports the monarchy doesn't mean anyone in disagreement should conform and follow the crowd like a mindless sheep.
I hate this country? Can you read minds or something? What a completely baseless and unfounded comment. I am very proud of my country; from (American) George Peabody's social housing revolution to Gladstone supporting the working class to the formation of the NHS and beyond. Just because I am anti-monarch does not mean I am disrespecting of this country. I also find it hard to believe that you asked enough tourists to get a credible enough answer as to why they were in London.
Nice straw man argument there. Just because we say we want tradition doesn't mean we want slavery back. That's so blatantly obvious you're a fool for suggesting it. Debate seriously or leave the table.
Monarchy does not equal dicatorship. Dictatorships are the end result of the democratic process over time, and facism is democracy personified. Monarchs may or may not have absolute power, depending on the laws of the nation, which monarchs are obliged to and often govern within. There is no set standard with how monarchs use their power as it varies from culture to culture. The vast majority of monarchs were constrained as far as ultimate power went.
@idahobuckeye Dictatorships are just an autocratic form of governance - it doesn't matter how they come about. Castro's autocracy over Cuba commenced as soon as he overthrew Batista - there was no illusion of democracy there! And I was arguing with your initial point that you believe power should be taken out of the hands of the people. I think the majority of voters are ill informed morons but that can't be helped, and I'd rather everyone had their say than just a single person.
You prefer that everyone had their say? Why would you want ill-informed morons have their say when you and I both know it'd be counterproductive? The opinion of the village idiot should not hold the same weight as Aristotle, to paraphrase a quote. To let the mass of ill-informed voters "have their say" is exactly what enables the rise of dictators. It DOES matter how they come about, because democracy has proven to be the easiest route to power for those individuals.
@idahobuckeye So you think a dictator will "quietly go home after two terms"? Wow you really are out of touch with reality aren't you. Have we ever seen a dictator quietly remove themselves from office at their own free will? Oh no we haven't, you seem to be a very confused man.
Tsk tsk tsk...Mr. Corden, did you ask me if dictators went home? No, you asked me what makes a good politician. I answered straight up. Try to stay on topic here.
@idahobuckeye You said it though you moron, you said a "good politician quietly goes home after two terms of his/her life". Since you want a dictator, I was merely pointing out that dictator's don't "quietly go home after two terms", they stay for as long as they can. And for the majority of cases - they kill whoever gets in their way or undermines them. What a strange mind you have.
...I don't want a dictator. I want a monarch. A monarch isn't a dictator, he/she is born into the position whether they like it or not. A dictator is someone who has actively been seeking power for his/her life. The vast majority of dictators used the democratic process to get them into power. They ride waves of popular support into office. Dictatorships like fascism are democracy personified: they are the wills and desires of The People embodied in one person.
@idahobuckeye another bullshit comment by you. why do you want a monarch? why do you want a family to be all powerfull for generations upon generations? WHY? this family rulled for thousands of years, they are EGYPTIAN bloodline. all they do in life is gain more power/land/slaves. and the rest of their lives they work REALLY hard on keeping that power using wars, genocide, treason, destruction and corruption. monarch=dictator.. all dictators are supported by monarchs.
As an American, personally I admire the Queen a great deal. She has devoted her entire life to her country. On the other hand, Obama is a huge embarrassment to this country. It would benefit him to find out what the national anthem of a country is so he doesn't try to make a toast during it like a complete moron. Michelle is pretty cool though :-)
@maszlagma nope, not allowed to stop someone working if its something light like that, at least here in England, cant show inequality just because of a lisp
Ministri regiminis a Mario Monti ducti, qui hodie coram rei publicae praesidente ius iurandum dederunt, cras in senatum superiorem se conferent senatorum suffragia petituri. Postquam Silvius Berlusconi magistratu se abdicavit, Mario Monti, rerum oeconomicarum perito, munus regiminis Italici constituendi commissum est.
Well given the fact that they were at Buckingham Palace for the photo I think she had every right to be in the shot. How would you like it if you hosted 20+ people and they wouldn't even let you in the photo.
All the anti-monarchy folks in these comments just prove to me why the monarchy is so desperately needed these days. They complain that the Queen does nothing yet who's to blame? The people who kept electing politicians who took power from her. And yet she remains faithful to constitutional law in ways "The People" and their pet politicians do not. Republics have nothing to offer their people except chains forged by lies. "The People" are horrible keepers of power. Long live monarchy!
@idahobuckeye LMFAO Long Live monarchy??? You mean communism right? The power belongs in the hands of the people OBVIOUSLY so you dont end up with totalitarian dictatorships... as for the US and the UK they have been Hi-jacked by corporations. #RonPaul2012
With considerable help from The People, who reelected their minions every time (and yet complain). When "The People" have power, dictators know for certain they are guaranteed a spot in power. All they must do is appeal to the masses, to their wants and desires. The People will vote them in every time, because they will vote for whoever sucks up to them more. There are no safeguards in democracy or people-powered governments.
@idahobuckeye But there are safeguards in dictatorships is that what you're honestly trying to say? Saddam Hussein must have been a good bloke in your eyes in that case, and Kim Jong Il, and Stalin, and Hitler, and Mussolini. It's not like every single dictatorship in the last century has lead to people living in fear due to the threat of being murdered or tortured. If only you spent one day of your miserbale fucking life in a dictatorship - then you'd shut up (or it'd be labour camps for you).
Word to the wise: Hitler and Stalin were both democratically elected.
Those "chains of lies" I speak of...they are the lies of republicansim. Democracy promises equality and only doles out inequality because of the demands of the majority. It sings freedom but its voice only contains oppression where the majority can squeeze the life out of whoever it doesn't like by popular vote. It promises accountability and yet there are no checks on the power of popular stupidity!
@idahobuckeye Factually innacurate - Stalin was not democratically elected, the Communists siezed power by force in 1917. You're right, Hitler was democratically elected but emergency powers given by the German Kaiser made him a dictator; allowing to murder 6 million Jews and a further 4 million that didn't fit in with his "Aryan race". Because the people had no voice and democracy was none existant, he could do whatever he damn well pleased - noone could stop him. What a catastrophic mistake.
@idahobuckeye Is it just a mere coincidence that every single dictatorship leads to mass murder and torture? You don't seem to realise that democracy means that if our leaders start commiting attrocities (which all dictatorships lead to) then they can be voted out - they know this and so act in the interests of the people without resorting to violence in order to consolidate power. I hope for the sake of humanity people like you don't ever come to make decisions for our country.
@idahobuckeye So what does she actually do then Queen boy? We elected politicians because that's what democracy is; we've long grown out of the days of hereditary claims to power because it's the voice of the people, not just the voice of your beloved royal family. Thankfully they no longer have any powers; it's just turned into a pomp ceromony so sentimental losers like you can feel good about yourself. What "chains forged by lies" are you referring to? Sounds like common sense to me.
If we grew out of monarchy, can we grow out of democracy? It has to be the most immature and reckless form of government out there. If you elected politicians, why can't you ever elect any good ones?
The voice of the people? Pshaw! It's like giving power to children who don't understand the burdens of rule. What do you do in a democracy? You willingly vote away your misguided notions of freedom and happily enslave yourselves to whoever speaks the most touchy-feely.
@idahobuckeye And just out of interest, what constitutes as a "good" politician to you? A mass murderer would probably appeal, or a nice corrupt man? You love dictatorship after all; mass murder and corruption would probably appeal to your ideal land of force and fear.
@idahobuckeye You also sound like a person of sheer arrogance, calling the people "children who don't understand the burdens of rule"; I suppose you'd consider yourself the only one with sufficient knowledge about the subject? Is everyone else intellectually below you to such an extent they shouldn't have a say? Wise up little boy.
"Absolute power corrupts, absolutely"...you're quite right. And we see The People are proving that true, time and again by electing the people they deserve, always decrying what's wrong and yet never willing to admit fault.
A good politician to me? A good politician is someone who gets into office, works to benefit the nation instead of JUST his constituents, then quietly goes home after two terms to live his/her life.
@idahobuckeye So we get rid of the monarchy to replace it with..........another layer of self serving pigs, oops, i mean piliticians.....GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!!!
@idahobuckeye your monarch sold out. if you think politicians are above her.. think twice. shes a grandmaster mason if you didnt know. she pulls the strings. monarchs reign they dont rule. people have no power to elect governments, that monarch you say we need is the one electing her bloodlines. also your comment is less that educated. you dont even know what you are talking about. you dont understand how those monarchs you say we need stay in power.
Tch, where'd you get that idea? Democracy is not progressive. Democracy is mob-rule and majority sanctioned oppression. Democracy is inhuman and it is a system based on lies, corruption and power-hungry fools. Monarchs have nothing on the power-driven agenda that lies within the hivemind of "The People". "The People" are the greatest ally of dictators, they are their willing minions.
I'm for intelligent progress rather than progress as defined by modern liberals.
So what in fact you are suggestion is that you would rather serve an unelected official who could only be ousted upon death - no matter what their political stance or how well they have performed in office? What a simple-minded notion. As broken as politics may seem as of present, a dictatorship is not the answer.
I do understand her reaction, she's been brought up in the formalities of that type of life, many "voted" in leaders have not been, perhaps the English should offer classes to staffers so they can teach these uncouth lowly leaders, or perhaps the queen should also show more restraint in getting P.O.'ed over the formally challenged.
USA and England and their allies are responsible for the war in Irak and Afghanistan where more than 2 million people were killed. Those responsible have to be brought to justice before the court of human rights in The Hage for their war crimes and they should have to pay a fine of TRILLIONS of Dollars to the Iraki government for the damage they did in this war.
It's CLEARLY Lula, the then president of Brasil, that goes to greet Obama and says it. You can see by the movement to the right (where Obama is) and his hand gestures to greet. Don't let facts get in the way of a story though..
that evil old dwarf n the system her existence props up is beyond depraved .. she n the pope, Joe the Rat, were served summonses by the International Crimes Tribunal recently on charges of human trafficking n genocide

the pope is complicit in the rape of atleast 50,000 children, a squalid little man who constructed the very Vatican policy that ensured it was covered up, with the priests not only going unpunished but transferred to another diocese to carry on raping!
@ThEcOnSpIrAcIeThEoRi what the fuck are you on about? i dont steal money for a poster? you stupid little boy. mmm and Britain had a very effective punishment for people who speak like you are ... hung drawn and uartered.
@mikkim11 the biggest imbecile online commenting on a youtube video! I will retract my statement if you exempt her majesty from your original statement.
@matchbox555 I want to see you drawn and quartered, life is tough we don't always get what we want sometimes we get lucky and I happen to have my lucky drawing and quartering kit with me to bad for you!
@ThEcOnSpIrAcIeThEoRi idiot do you not know how much the royal wedding generated for our country by dipshits like you lapping it up and the amount of yearly tourists who pay to visit buckinham palace therfore increasing our economy
queen elizabeth since 1952...berlusconi since? till? obama? and many more?!!! show some repsect you ignorant bastards..this queen has been queen since long before these a holes got a vote! and she is not a parasite as some put it..she is our queen and england is much richer for it....support the royal family of fk off abroad.....we dont need you, nor want you.....
@Trustisaliability yes, obviously there will be moments like this, it's part of democracy. but with monarchies on the other hand, the people have no choice in appointing them. the Windsor family are just like any other. so why do they deserve such special treatment? they don't have their own jobs. why do hard-working British families have to pay their taxes so that the royals can live lavish spoilt lives? something just doesn't make sense here
The royal budget £50 million a year, profit created from the royal estates £200 million a year. That figure does not include the thousands of tourists who visit the royal palaces without going inside (e.g. taking pictures in front of Buckingham Palace).
@Trustisaliability so now you justify their existence through the fact that they are a money-making machine for the state? nice priorities. oh and maybe you forgot about the expenses of providing security/police for royal events too? here's a thought, how about the queen donates her net worth towards alleviating the several MILLIONS of Britons living in poverty, (seeing as she didn't actually earn a penny of it).
but that's alright, it's not her duty to care for her 'own' people anyway...
No more than would be spent if we had a president, and considerably less than the US spend protecting Obama.
And how has she not earned the money? She is allowing people onto her property and in the process making a profit. No different to the owner of a theme park or a car park.
As for the millions living in poverty, you really think her money would change anything? Besides which royal charities have done more for those people than anyone could reasonably expect.
@Trustisaliability 'allowing people onto her property' oh wow this really proves the mindset of a monarchist. why do you keep failing to realise that she never acquired such a property by herself, by her hard work, or even purchased it with money she had earnt in he first place?
and my poverty argument was simply highlighting the huge inequality problem that the UK faces, and that the queen is not politically active in implementing changes for the poor, because she wasn't politically elected.
@LVDoil Did you bother reading his statement? Budget=£50M, thats the entire spending relating to the Royals. Therefore they contribute £150M more than they take and THEREFORE your 'drain on the economy' argument is null and void. The profit goes back into the UK government pool. So its Parliaments fault if they don't spend it on the people. Further more she has worked to further the UK's position in the world for longer than you';ve probably been alive.
@Voltaire152 It seems you've missed the point entirely. you, like the typical bigoted monarchist, values profit over the well-being of all Britons. because you do realise these millions are used to finance international conflicts. but i will give you some credit though, she isn't as bad as Hans-Adam II.
@LVDoil No, YOU'VE missed the point. The profit from the Royal estates either goes through one of 2 routes. EITHER it goes into the charities supported by the Royals, OR it goes directly into Government control. So actually either you hate the UK Parliament OR you hate charities... which means your hate is misguided OR your a bit of a bastard for hating on a charity... both of them are pretty embaressing so take your pick.
@Voltaire152 Oh please, charity work and 'royal' charity work are completely different. Their's is cynically used to bolster their own reputations and stave off criticism about their lifestyles and extravagances. You do realise the royal household is exempted from the Freedom Information Act, which means any finance reports they publish are obscured? The entire Windsor family can continue to do charity work in a republic as they don't need official 'royal' statue to raise money for charity.
@LVDoil Oh please ALL celebrities do charity work for those above reasons and no one gives a shit. Why? Because REGARDLESS of the reasons, the charity, and what that charity supports STILL benefits. If you are starving and someone offers you food because it makes them look good would you refuse? Out of curiosity how many times have YOU risked your life for your country? I doubt its anywhere near as much as the Queen's.
1. All money from the royal estates goes to the government, around 330 million a year, if the UK was a republic as private possesions these would by international law have to be returned to the monarch.
2. The royal family is only paid a civil list, money required to function as head of state. This is also paid to a President.
3. Es-Presidents are paid a pension and provided with a continuous personal protection, also paid by the government.
...And just how can you, at this time, hold anything over our elected politicians? Yours have been absolutely catastrophic. Blair was a disaster, Brown was a fool and "Call me Dave" Cameron has been a joke thus far. At least in Britain you have a monarch to look up to and past your own goddamn mistakes. Over here, we have nothing beyond Obama. A republic ain't what it's cracked up to be, and elections are overrated systems full of fools and demagogues.
@kingdrewew support the royal family!? what you on? there's freedom of choice. People can live in the UK and not support the royal family if they wish. You make it sound like a rule. I'm not bowing down to some old fat ass that does nothing and expects people to respect and bow down to her.
@RJSyeah Go read up on the Queen's duties before you embaress yourself further with your complete absence of knowledge of how the Royal family works please. Yes you don't have to support the Royal Family, but the Queen has earnt her respect regardless of whether you support them or not. Its simple manners when you get right down to it.
@kingdrewew What kind of comparison is that? those guys are democratically elected, but who voted for Queen and in what election? she's been there just becuase she was part of the so-called aristocrat family. If it is about the lenght of your leadership, there have been lots of fucked up leaders in the world who have been in the office for 50 years.
@TheRedCoke What a tired, lazy and unbelievably stupid remark to make. The monarchy of the UK have no power and can't order the deaths of foreign nationals let alone former members of their own family!
when you walk , when you speak when you are drunk with beer, when you dress, when you fuck, when you go in our country we can see easy your barbarian way to be yourself, you are so far from our mediterranean culture..you can t delete your origin of rough people but also with freedom nature like all the people of north europe
The Queen has a secret coat-rack for adolescent virgin skins. Hidden in the chambers. She has a secret bar, too, with fresh baby blood on-tap. Hidden in the chambers. To maintain her post at the helm of Evil-- to maintain her grip-- she must stroke the Dark Lord with the infinite terror of infant torture. The rituals must remain! Hidden in the chambers.
I bet if someone was shouting her name she would have shown a greasy smile and shit in her diaper. obviously she dont wanna hear obamas name. stupid hairy potter bitch
@empiretocommonwealth her majesty is too old to be living forever.as a matter of fact the reason she is so cranky is because she knows too well that her days are limited.although she never actually had anypower during her lifetime yet she still sucked foolish britisher's taxpaying money.Silvio didn't reply to her because he doesn't speak with ugly unfukable oldies...
@ImperialGeorge You didn't hear me say, "he's a great leader" or that "he deserves to stay in office." Like I said, he's a good comedian, and in a world with dull leaders, this is refreshing and hilarious. Plus, the monarchy is a draconian institution with a history of barbarism. So for that reason, fuck her and fuck the monarchy.
@DarkReapersGrim History of Barbarism? Like The Renascence (Medici) The Enlightenment, Industrial Revolution, The Great Exhibition, Crusading Against Slavery, Child Work Laws and Dueling. (Prince Albert) Fighting for equal Rights For Catholics and Jews (Edward VII)
What did Politicians do? (Two World Wars, Fascism, Communism, The Cold War, War in Iraq, Great Depression, Banking Crisis, Murdoch Media) And what about those forward looking Third World Republics that are so far behind Britain
I am glad berlusconi has gone! But how on earth was he in power for 17years? I'll tell you why, because he was serving his master, but once he started to go against them, they got rid of him!
Well that's common sense! treat your master right and your safe! Go against them and they will punish you! Berlusconi was a dog and got treated like a dog
Itllians are faggs,And everybody knows,The queen put Berlusconi to his rightfull place;as a slave and the leader of a nation of slaves.HEHEHE.Stupid Italians
I think the queen is Mrs Buzzkill , belusconi is the loud guy that gives the party life. When shes around everybody has to start thinking which spoon to use and such crap!
Lolol the Italian guy: "it would be better for all of us if he confined this kind of behaviour for when he's on holiday in Sardinia." That guy speaks a lot of sense
Come on....Everyone in that room is a Stateman/woman of a country and therefore, everyone is equal of respect and sovereign dignity. The only difference for justification of HM The Queen's action is her age. She's alot older than everyone and can be anyone's grandmother or great grandmother. Cant you show a little lightheartedness and respect to an old lady telling you off being too loud.

@MCJess Yes. Mate, i live in Bromley, south east london.
For my sociology A level, i had to go around all of london pretty much and ask
1) Are you a tourist, or do you live in London?
2) If you're a tourist, what did you come to London to see?
3) Are you satisifed with your visit?
The majority of the tourist i asked, came to hopefully catch a glimpse of the queen and to see her royal guards.

...I don't want a dictator. I want a monarch. A monarch isn't a dictator, he/she is born into the position whether they like it or not. A dictator is someone who has actively been seeking power for his/her life. The vast majority of dictators used the democratic process to get them into power. They ride waves of popular support into office. Dictatorships like fascism are democracy personified: they are the wills and desires of The People embodied in one person.
idahobuckeye 3 weeks ago

Long live monarchy!
idahobuckeye 1 month ago 39
@idahobuckeye LMFAO Long Live monarchy??? You mean communism right? The power belongs in the hands of the people OBVIOUSLY so you dont end up with totalitarian dictatorships... as for the US and the UK they have been Hi-jacked by corporations. #RonPaul2012
sushidropkick 1 month ago
@sushidropkick
"They have been hijacked by corporations"...
There are no safeguards in democracy or people-powered governments.
idahobuckeye 1 month ago
@idahobuckeye But there are safeguards in dictatorships is that what you're honestly trying to say? Saddam Hussein must have been a good bloke in your eyes in that case, and Kim Jong Il, and Stalin, and Hitler, and Mussolini. It's not like every single dictatorship in the last century has lead to people living in fear due to the threat of being murdered or tortured. If only you spent one day of your miserbale fucking life in a dictatorship - then you'd shut up (or it'd be labour camps for you).
mattcorden95 4 weeks ago
@mattcorden95
It promises accountability and yet there are no checks on the power of popular stupidity!
idahobuckeye 4 weeks ago
@idahobuckeye Factually innacurate - Stalin was not democratically elected, the Communists siezed power by force in 1917. You're right, Hitler was democratically elected but emergency powers given by the German Kaiser made him a dictator; allowing to murder 6 million Jews and a further 4 million that didn't fit in with his "Aryan race". Because the people had no voice and democracy was none existant, he could do whatever he damn well pleased - noone could stop him. What a catastrophic mistake.
mattcorden95 4 weeks ago
@idahobuckeye Is it just a mere coincidence that every single dictatorship leads to mass murder and torture? You don't seem to realise that democracy means that if our leaders start commiting attrocities (which all dictatorships lead to) then they can be voted out - they know this and so act in the interests of the people without resorting to violence in order to consolidate power. I hope for the sake of humanity people like you don't ever come to make decisions for our country.
mattcorden95 4 weeks ago
@idahobuckeye So what does she actually do then Queen boy? We elected politicians because that's what democracy is; we've long grown out of the days of hereditary claims to power because it's the voice of the people, not just the voice of your beloved royal family. Thankfully they no longer have any powers; it's just turned into a pomp ceromony so sentimental losers like you can feel good about yourself. What "chains forged by lies" are you referring to? Sounds like common sense to me.
mattcorden95 4 weeks ago
@mattcorden95
You willingly vote away your misguided notions of freedom and happily enslave yourselves to whoever speaks the most touchy-feely.
idahobuckeye 4 weeks ago
@idahobuckeye And just out of interest, what constitutes as a "good" politician to you? A mass murderer would probably appeal, or a nice corrupt man? You love dictatorship after all; mass murder and corruption would probably appeal to your ideal land of force and fear.
"Absolute power corrupts, absolutely"
mattcorden95 4 weeks ago
@idahobuckeye You also sound like a person of sheer arrogance, calling the people "children who don't understand the burdens of rule"; I suppose you'd consider yourself the only one with sufficient knowledge about the subject? Is everyone else intellectually below you to such an extent they shouldn't have a say? Wise up little boy.
mattcorden95 4 weeks ago
@mattcorden95
Oh boy...did I touch a nerve? :) me thinks I did.

"The People" are the greatest ally of dictators, they are their willing minions.
I'm for intelligent progress rather than progress as defined by modern liberals.

Yeah and he is proof that electing a head of state doesn't work.
Trustisaliability 1 month ago
@Trustisaliability yes, obviously there will be moments like this, it's part of democracy. but with monarchies on the other hand, the people have no choice in appointing them. the Windsor family are just like any other. so why do they deserve such special treatment? they don't have their own jobs. why do hard-working British families have to pay their taxes so that the royals can live lavish spoilt lives? something just doesn't make sense here
LVDoil 1 month ago
@LVDoil
The royal budget £50 million a year, profit created from the royal estates £200 million a year. That figure does not include the thousands of tourists who visit the royal palaces without going inside (e.g. taking pictures in front of Buckingham Palace).
You do the math.
Trustisaliability 1 month ago
@Trustisaliability so now you justify their existence through the fact that they are a money-making machine for the state? nice priorities. oh and maybe you forgot about the expenses of providing security/police for royal events too? here's a thought, how about the queen donates her net worth towards alleviating the several MILLIONS of Britons living in poverty, (seeing as she didn't actually earn a penny of it).
but that's alright, it's not her duty to care for her 'own' people anyway...
LVDoil 1 month ago
@LVDoil
Trustisaliability 1 month ago
@Trustisaliability 'allowing people onto her property' oh wow this really proves the mindset of a monarchist. why do you keep failing to realise that she never acquired such a property by herself, by her hard work, or even purchased it with money she had earnt in he first place?
and my poverty argument was simply highlighting the huge inequality problem that the UK faces, and that the queen is not politically active in implementing changes for the poor, because she wasn't politically elected.
LVDoil 1 month ago
@LVDoil Did you bother reading his statement? Budget=£50M, thats the entire spending relating to the Royals. Therefore they contribute £150M more than they take and THEREFORE your 'drain on the economy' argument is null and void. The profit goes back into the UK government pool. So its Parliaments fault if they don't spend it on the people. Further more she has worked to further the UK's position in the world for longer than you';ve probably been alive.
Voltaire152 1 month ago
@Voltaire152 It seems you've missed the point entirely. you, like the typical bigoted monarchist, values profit over the well-being of all Britons. because you do realise these millions are used to finance international conflicts. but i will give you some credit though, she isn't as bad as Hans-Adam II.
LVDoil 1 month ago
@LVDoil No, YOU'VE missed the point. The profit from the Royal estates either goes through one of 2 routes. EITHER it goes into the charities supported by the Royals, OR it goes directly into Government control. So actually either you hate the UK Parliament OR you hate charities... which means your hate is misguided OR your a bit of a bastard for hating on a charity... both of them are pretty embaressing so take your pick.
Voltaire152 1 month ago
@Voltaire152 Oh please, charity work and 'royal' charity work are completely different. Their's is cynically used to bolster their own reputations and stave off criticism about their lifestyles and extravagances. You do realise the royal household is exempted from the Freedom Information Act, which means any finance reports they publish are obscured? The entire Windsor family can continue to do charity work in a republic as they don't need official 'royal' statue to raise money for charity.
LVDoil 1 month ago
@LVDoil Oh please ALL celebrities do charity work for those above reasons and no one gives a shit. Why? Because REGARDLESS of the reasons, the charity, and what that charity supports STILL benefits. If you are starving and someone offers you food because it makes them look good would you refuse? Out of curiosity how many times have YOU risked your life for your country? I doubt its anywhere near as much as the Queen's.
Voltaire152 1 month ago
@LVDoil Here's a few points to consider.

@philiesguy Neither can you spell. We do not want a British Nixon, a British Reagan, a British Bush or a British Obama, thank you very much!
