This is odd. Starting at about 3:30, it shows Bush #43 escorting Betty Ford out.  At Reagan's funeral in the same place in '04, there was a military escort escorting Nancy Reagan out of that National Catherdral. I wonder why the change? Watch /watch?v=B4oTrQgFYFI and go to 6:00 and you'll see.

I am Episcopalian. This work by Franck is often used as a recessional. I'm sure the family approved it. Families have much input on hymns, scriptural passages, etc. at an Episcopal funeral. If it was right for the family, it was right.

Episcopal church ist the Anglican church (or Church of England) of the United States. It's considered like one of the Protestant churches, because they don't recognise the authority of the Pope. In they service, they have 30% part to Catholic and 70% to Protestant. I invite you to visit an Episcopal church. I'm Baptist and I make this experience by visiting theyr sunday services.

I am Episcopalian; we refer to ourselves as the "via media" or middle way between Catholicism and Protestantism. Our liturgy is traditional yet we are Protestant: we do not follow the Vatican, our services have been in English for centuries, women are priests & bishops, clergy can marry. Within the Episcopal church, there are parishes that are distinctly Anglo-Catholic, Evangelical or Broad. What binds the church together is the use of The Book of Common Prayer which is unique to Anglicanism.
