  • If your driving a turbo vehicle, what do you do to preserve the turbos?

  • I'm from Mesa and I remember all the dust storms, i definitely missed a big one haha

  • Haboos are awesome but scary because it turns dark like an evil horror scene and it sure hurts if you walk in it

  • Ryno, glad you said something about driving in worse conditions while traveling through the Mid-West. I live on the WI/IL border and recent rain storms produced ZERO visibility a couple times these past few weeks. And when it comes to winter, I've experienced 'white' out conditions! While this is bad (!!) and I would probably be one of those putting on the hazards, it really can't be compared to our winters or storms, which I'm sure you know! AWESOME video though!!

  • lol I was in that shit. I didn't even know it was going on till I walked outside my work. Didn't know wtf was going on, thought it was WW3 or something. Then one of my coworkers walked out for a smoke break in the MIDDLE of it, and was like "Oh hey, it's just a dust storm.". I'm from Florida, so all this desert shit is weird to me. I'm use to Hurricanes. Not this dust shit.

  • I hear rihanna in the backround

  • Is this a normal thing in Arizona? Never seen one before this

  • @doctender77 we get these every summer in monsoon season but never this big of one - local media guys that grew up here haven't ever seen one this big. Made international news :)

  • @rynoweb Thanks. I didn't think they were normal but the guy in the video kept calling "an Arizona dust storm" like it happens all the time.

  • @doctender77 that would be me lol... at the time I didn't know it was the largest one we'd ever had but yeah dust storms are very normal here... get a few each summer.

  • @rynoweb sorry to ask, but how big are they usually?

  • THis doesnt happpen very often in Arizona. Rare occurence dont know why he keeps calling it an Arizona dust storm.

  • @marcdog1080 well another one just happened today.... >.> seems pretty common

  • i was in it

  • Thumbs up if you were in this duststorm and got dust in your mouth XP

  • I'm lovin' it! Grab yer guns, rednecks. O'Bombya is coming after yer guns. And don't forget your citizenship papers. The pigs are watchin' ya.

  • I usedd to live there thos storms are crazy

  • damn.. nature! you scary

  • Amazing and impressive video!

  • Very fascinating! And they totally had the right song going in the background too, "Rolling In The Deep", and that's just what they did lol.

  • O look adele is playing o.o

  • @GuzikT...I agree. And why the hell are people even driving in these conditions? "I can't see a damn thing"...???geez....

  • So, when the talk about a volcano blocking the sun and throwing the earth into night and cold. I guess they are not kidding!

  • Amazing, I will miss this beautiful mother earth from the first minute I die!!!!

    Just beautiful!!!

  • aww i missed it i was in cali but i live in az damn

  • I dont think people realize how bad this is to drive in. First of, the sand is sand blasting the car the entire time, second, as youre driving the sand is getting into all bearings, seals etc... And, even though there is the air filter with this much sand some is getting past into the engine - air filter is toast!

  • I wish I stayed in AZ longer than I did, I would be able to see this epicness in person.

  • AZ BLOWS. THEY FORECAST STORMS FOR PHOENIX ALL THROUGHOUT THE WEEK, WITH THUNDER AND LIGHTENING AND EVERYTHING, BUT WE DON'T GET NONE OF THAT, ITS A LIE. THIS IS WHAT WE GET INSTEAD, A 70 MILE WIDE WALL OF DUST. THEY NEED TO STOP FORECASTING NICE THUNDERSTORMS THAT AREN'T GOING TO HAPPEN AND ALSO FALSE TEMPS, NOT TO MENTION LYING ABOUT WHEN THE LAST REAL RECORD HIGHS WERE RECORDED. I KNOW WHY THEY LIE ABOUT IT TOO..THEY DON'T WANT PEOPLE TO THINK THIS PLACE IS UNINHABITABLE AND NOT COME HERE.

  • Thank god i live in Canada. I'd take a snowstorm over this any day.

  • yet so little people are actually smart enough to turn on the hazard light

  • No I left my windows cracked open n dust was everywhere inside

  • Good vid. Cave Creek only got the dust from all this. A technician of ours reacted like you did going from 70 to 5 mph on I10.

  • time to make some money on air filters XD

  • @Gyphia yeah I mean it's an iPhone... what I was seeing versus what the phone looked like while taking video versus what it looked like importing into Final Cut... all different lol. And I'm not video editing expert so... just wingin it :)

  • @rynoweb

My smartphone does the same. It sees better at night than my eyes can see, so most of the dashcam footage shows things I didn't even see while driving.

  • @rynoweb XD it turned from day time to night time in seconds thats funny

  • I HATE TO BE IN A CONVERTIBLE WITH A BROKEN TOP THROUGH THAT, AHAA

  • yea this sucked. watch this video of me outside walking around during this.

    watch?v=RmjSDJj35nU

  • Impressive, I would think you were driving around midnight...

  • this storm made my car all nasty & dusty. -_-

we were supposed to have rain this day. not dust. aha

  • hope we get one here in vegas, so far this monsoon season has been uneventful

  • Dude, you should mount your phone on your windshield so you can video record more safely. Cool video tho! :)

  • @n33oh well ideally i'd have my gopro or something but wasn't in my car initially and didn't know that thing was comin lol. thx

  • Left my car windows cracked dangitt

  • @taylornkastner I think they were cracked already. It was dust you know.

  • is that the norm in arizona to drive with ur hazard lights on when its foggy, rainy, dust stormy?

  • @meshellandash no? Honestly it rarely happens so... It's never foggy, hardly stormy or rainy but when it is people don't use flashers... This was the first time I've seen anybody do that but it was easier to see vehicles with them blinking than not so that's why I had mine on.

  • Well, media don't read your notice. They just put video courtesy of user rynoweb. They are too dumb to read or to understand conditions, right?

  • @juanlarronde ya... that's typical - used to that lol. Would've loved a link to my blog post about it :/ upchuck.us/arizona-dust-storm-july-2011/

  • it looks like something out of the movies hahaha i saw this on the news and i live in texas...hahaha

  • I love Arizona, hell yeah :D

  • lol I was already in it when you started filming. Holy crap was that weird.

  • This is the best video of this storm that I have seen so far.... plus, I like the song in the background, LOL

  • thats sick hahahaha ive never been in one

  • like hell gate thnx good share

  • Best vid of the dust storm posted. Could be an intro for a cheesy B flick horror movie. The alien lizards are going to get ya.

  • Amazing! Thanks for posting.
