Nice recipe & great indexing on this. In Canada we call these English Muffins. Crumpets are flatter with big open bubbles on top and very spongy in texture.
@mukwah1111 You could use this same recipe to make the kind of crumpet you're describing. Just use less batter in the rings and don't turn them over. -Cindy
That's the one! It's in the Artisan Series. I also love the glass bowl, the rubber lined beater, the extra bowls, the pasta maker and cutters, the ........(I could go on and on!) - Cindy
Oh yum Cindy they look wonderful. I wanted to ask you something. I am in the process of lookin a kitchenaid mixers and I know that you use your a lot. First off, what model is the one your using, would you recommend it? Also does it do a good job at mixing doughs without movin all over the place? I have an old kenwood although a good one, it's so light it hops all over the place. Not sure to get the pro k5 kitchenaid or the standard one. Would appreciate your opinion please.
@Fitange How exciting for you! I've had my Artisan series KitchenAid for at least 15 years and love how it handles doughs, batters, etc... You could go with the pro series, but for the price difference you could get an Artisan and then maybe the pasta attachment?? Just a thought :) -Cindy

Do the sides get cooked easily?
windycity88 4 months ago
@windycity88 Yes, they do. The metal rings heat up (that's why it's important to let them sit on the griddle and get hot). Totally yummy! -Cindy

I love to make these - I spray my ice cream scoop with PAM to get the batter out more easily.
