this has been my favorite poem for years, you can tell it comes from a different place than most of this other stuff, there are less complex metaphors and references. perhaps he loved someone that was a victim of incest?- he puts everything so perfectly, its just so startlingly dead on and heartfelt

about how a lot of women's movement into sexual awareness is not of the moment of their dreams....but more so a random moment in the night at the hands of a trusted person.  Often coupled with the blame game towards the female by family members as well as inability of the mother to fathom that such an incident could occur. Familial rape....incest.
