If you want to get the best from the AT in this car, put the pedal to the metal, the AT will get the RPM up the 6000 in every gear....or, you can play with the gear selector by paying attention to the RPMs and change the position on time. Remember to do the test with no one else in the car (besides you, the driver, of course). You will see you can get to 11 but not 12., I noted a delay on the gear changing, you lost a sec on that one. Check my Accent 1.4 liters video.
lol man i have the same car. buy a spectre air filter and just attach it to the tube and it will help the car out alot more! oh and turn off the overdrive! i bet u will get 9 sec!
i have a spectre filter too with the plastic chrome like piping and a thrush glasspack muffler. its amazing nice sounding and fast. my car is stick though. i love it, its better than i thought a hyunai would ever be.

Ditch the passenger. Small engines don't deal with extra weight very well......power-to-weight ratio goes south. If it's a stick, you should be getting between 9 and 10 seconds....according to track tests from car reviewers. The Accent is geared fairly short, so it's hard to reach 60 in 2nd anyway. Okay I'm done.
