I like these guys, but I wish Louis would just sing instead of doing that talky scat thing he does. Their lyrics are really good, but half of them get drowned out by the cadences of his speaking voice. Consequently, he seems less like Tom Waits and more like Kevin Eldon. Just my two cents.
@neonatalpenguin Ah, you presume two things here: 1) Louis is trying to be Tom Waits. 2) Louis can actually sing. Neither is true. Very glad you like the lyrics, in the writing process they take the most effort but get commented on the least. I'm grateful that someone's noticed them. There will be some straight singing on the upcoming record (you have been warned!). Thanks for the constructive feedback, most people just talk about the beard these days (bit depressing). Louis.
@debtrecords Thanks for taking my comments in good humour. I was just using Tom Waits as a kind of shorthand for ‘oddball old-time folk/cabaret singer’, as a few people had already mentioned him. I suppose I’d just like it if the vocals were bolder and more confident, that’s all. Maybe it's power and enunciation that's the issue, not singing ability.
I remember seeing you lot in Odd in Fallowfield in 2009, and thinking you were great. Glad to hear you’re still at it.
This is awesome, its like Tim Burton mixed with Tom Waits!!!! Brilliant, gonna see them at eden festival this year (if im not on at the same time, which i really hope im not!!!!!)
The document he was writing is titled "Last Will and Testament" however pausing at the exact moment its hilariously just "All work and no play makes Louis a dull boy" written over and over again.
Superb. Saw these guys live in Platt Fields Park on Sunday afternoon and was blown away by the manic energy and amazing musicianship. Another great act from Manchester! Well done, Louis and the Six.
Gregory's directorial magnum opus thus far, an audio visual onslaught of Poe-esque Gothic tableau(And a cool song as well :) 5*, Well Done to all those involved :)
This video is amazing - that's two videos now by Serious Feather that are totally cool (including the By The River video). So stylish. It's awesome on this one how you are telling a story all the way through. Really like the the lead singer's performance. It really elevates it all. Wicked....I'm sure you will go far and hope to see more videos from you soon!!! :)
3:00 "You asked if there were bad times... YEAH MANY" the most brilliantly performed line

Great lyrics, quality video. So many funny, clever lines. I've to keep re-watching to catch them.
"Each night I go to sleep
The way Christians go to lions
God can take my body
But I'm leaving my soul to science"
"I'm told there'll be no jobs until somebody dies
But you know a pay-cheque is just another term
For "consolation prize" "
Wonderful.
