Well if you can ignore logic and your minds attempts at making sense of things, and trust in the bible, you dont need proof (like whale bones) that the flood of noah happened and that evolution is bullshit, and that the world is only as old as the bible says it is. you already know that. and If you rely on logic and facts that you can see and prove actually exist and you think the bible is nonsense, then displaced whale bones shouldnt make you suddenly become religious. it depends on the person.

@naciamaJYute Most athiests (with common sense) are willing to admit that we can only hope to theorize how the universe came into being. most religious people claim that they know exactly and for certain how the world was made. They say becuause its in the bible it must be true....cuz the bible said its true. athiests can see that thats not logical at all. in my opinion, something (either God or the universe or both) had to have no start/end OR came from nothing.

As to Christian Logic:

There is nothing in this world that we have all the answers for. We all understand and operate on some degree of faith. Say for example you have to cross a rope bridge in the middle of the Amazon. For most everyone it is sufficient evidence of the soundness of the bridge to see a couple of locals go across it.......

1. since the Bible can turn murderers to missionaries, addicts to abstainers, dead to life (Jesus Christ) as it claims to be able to do;

2. and if the prophecies of the future have all (so far) been fulfilled as predicted

3. then its not much of a stretch to trust its historicity

Simple everyday Logic.

@naciamaJYute There are many books and religions that can make a bad person turn his life around. People claim that the koran had that effect on them. The bible claims that jesus did all of those miraculous (spelled wrong) things that he did. Most religious people (myself included) dont have or need any other evidence than "the bible said he did this stuff so it must be true" And anyone can invent vauge prophecy and have some of it come true sometime within the next 5,000 years.(next comment)==>

@naciamaJYute (cont'd from last post) on the other hand athiests tend to be fans of science and trying to figure out how the world around them works on their own through reasoning and physical logic. (i do this also) They know that these methods have found contradictions to many things in the bible. Therefore they dont beleive in it. I have my beleifs and i trust my own feelings that there is a GOD and the bible is his word but i dont claim that these beleifs are based on any kind of logic

@naciamaJYute You cant say everything in the bible is true just because the bible says its true. (if yur using logic.) There are other religious books that make the same vague prophecies that can be applied to anytime in history. its not hard to do. so thats not really proof either. Some people beleive they can disprove it by citing the fact that some events that the bible claims to have happened defy the laws of physics. My point is you cant logcically validate the bible. (and u dont have to)

i find it fascinating that there are so many experts on here already - as the articles have said scientists have no idea how this happened and are merely theorizing - this tells you they have no plausible explanation for how this happened and they are the experts - maybe everyone that already has this worked should go and offer you scientifically correct theories to them :)

I think this is from Noahs flood from the Bible come on over 25 full skeletons of whale and they say its about 80 out there and its other animals fossils out there and its half a mile from the ocean.

@bersa888 - No one thinks a flood 'drowned' then. However a flood receding could have stranded the whales in a normally water-free zone and in essence beached them where they died.

@LiquidangelicGrace : well, yes, "a flood" or a flood-like phenomenon (tsunami, etc.), not the biblical flood. Besides, these fossil whales are millions of years old, not thousands :-))))

The biblical account of the Flood is a great story. This is about science though, which holds the only believable and plausible explanation(s) to this find, NOT a mystery by a looooooooong shot. Let's not confuse the two. Unless you'd think the the Flood "drowned" these whales ;-)
