I'm a huge Robocop fan. More than that, I loved Robocop 3 but this short TV show was awful. I saw all 9 episodes only because of my love to Murphy. Actors were horrible. Ann R. Key (played by Leslie Hope) was the only one interesting character.
Robocop: The Series (1994) was really great television show but not this one
Notice that some parts on RoboCable changes sides during the gunfight. Like the small square on his chest... turns from left to right and back left again...
personaly I never enjoyed the super gory exploits of the first Robocop. and I actualy like the creative ways that Robocop would take down criminals in the TV show. to me this seems to be the perfect middle ground violent enough for the fans of the original but still less gory so that people like me don't throw up!
@SUPERMEDIABROTHERS6 how weak. the gory parts are what made the original so good. in fact verhoeven has talked in interviews about how they went from nc-17 to rated r and that the rated r version was more disturbing because of the way they had to cut the violent gory parts. if you watch the un rated version you see what verhoven means when he wanted the violence to be so over the top that it was more satirical than anything else. the show was cheesy poorly written juvenile crap.
@vincenizzzle If you watch the uncut footage (especially murphy's death), it's actually more disturbing than the cut version. There is nothing over the top about it.
@everett1911 murphy's death is utterly over the top and violent. disturbing? yea, to those who take a specific scene out of context. the whole movie was violent and gory and just completely excessive. how about the scene where ED 209 malfunctions and continues to shoot an unarmed ocp employee even after he's dead? or the 6000 SUX lololol. all over the top 80's excess. how about the ex mayor that goes crazy: "i want fast car with really shitty gas milage".
@vincenizzzle Murphy's death was rather realistic. we're not made of metal, and it's a wonder he didn't lose more bits of his body after getting shot that many times. As for ED-209, it was malfunctioning. it's entirely rational that it'd keep shooting at the dead executive because of it. It's a robot, not a human. it doesn't know the guy it's shooting is already dead because of that bug of his.
But since you don't seme to understand what over the top is, I suggest you go watch Ichi the killer.
@everett1911 hah, rational my balls. it's rational that a mega corp try to sell the armed forces a malfunctioning product? plz. irony irony irony. cmon that was the whole point to the dialogue from dick jones "who cares if it worked or not?!" and it's cute that you think you're trying to one up me in the tolerance department. i dont care for torture porn.
@everett1911 thats it? tech perspective? hahahah alright dick jones. why dont you and your rational techs go build another half assed argument. and while you're at it you might wanna learn about literary devices like theme, satire and maybe if you're undeveloped brain can handle it, irony!
si concordo.. diciamo che ci hanno messo anche effetti speciali non indifferenti.. cioè vuol dire che a questo punto il robocop originale gli fa una pippa a questo.. ehehe come me lo spieghi sto fatto? :-)
Thanks for this movie
