I really appreciate what Nihang Niddar Singh is doing here even after all the controversy over his teachings. I think i would really appreciate learning from him and pass it on to others.
Gatka is nothing compared to this. Gatka seems more like the British fencing, if you ask me. It feels more like a show then actually fighting in a war. Just remember the British banned Shastervidiya after their rule over punjab. The Sri Dasam Granth Sahib ji was taken out of the Gurdwaras and no longer placed aside the Sri Guru Granth Sahib which was the tradition since Guru Gobind Singh ji wrote it.
@lyricallysikh1 it was the pakhand kirtani jathas(babbar khalsas) who removed the sri dasam granth and the sarbloh granth from the gurdware. they must have destroyed the copies too :(
@GabhrooShakeen09 when did the akj do this? as far as i knew the akj India Canada support Dasam Granth! Tapoban debated Jeonwala (anti dasam nindak) in TD! But Akj UK r the only 1s in AKJ that question everything and lined up with Pro Darshan Ragi stance which is sad!
Our panth (Sikh religion) has weaken from many things and the absolute thing it's weak at is the warrior side of a Khalsa which goes hand in hand with Saint and Soldier. I think if we were like the Khalsa back during Guru Hargobind ji's time who were really big and strong we wouldn't have weaken so much.

please. with your own eyes look at how the asisstants almost dont move as niddar walks around freely. escp the guy right behind his back who just shuffles. its almost funny. im not saying its choreographed. just saying that its not realistic. as for a chalenge im certain that i wdnt b able to beat niddar because im fat and awful at gatka. he has atleast trained and is good. that dosnt take away from the fact that this is made up and unbelivably unrealistic.
ebucian, You are welcome to have your opinion. The senior students which you see in the video are formidable swordsmen, however the skill of Niddar Singh is miles ahead. They know if they rush in they will get cut, their angles are being acutely checked and covered, only a fool rushes onto a razor sharp blade I invite you to the akhara not to spar or challenge, but to remove your doubts about the effectiveness of the vidiya. Gurfateh!

during the grappling part, whats stoping his assistants from booting his head? they dont.. they bend and fall down. its just not realistic. it looks funi. as in ha ha funi. he also talks in between the grapples to stop the action in the first grapple and then hand jabs, then fiddles around with his toes! WHILST ASISSTANT DOES NOTHING. its just not realistic. once agen im fat and not at all good at any martial arts. but u hav to either be hero worshiping the guy or dumb 2 think that its realistic
these moves are completly unrealistic and depend upon his assistants to stand still and motionless after their intial strike and accept multiple movements from him whilst just waiting there. not at all battelfield. also theres no way you can train this in any meaningfull fashion. Way too much detail on small flash moves that wouldnt work in any battelfield situation. A whole load of flash for peole that buy it. Hes completely made up all new moves and aspects of gatka overnight. wakeup please
