@neely47 The ending, when you see seven scenes (one for each star piece) of people after Smithy is gone. I believe one is Bowser and his minions rebuilding his castle, if that helps you remember.

True, some of the jumping sequences were difficult because of the camera views and movement controls... but overall I believe this was THE best Mario game ever created

I just beat this game not that long ago! Next up: Secret of Mana. Hopefully the wait's not too long for the next great Square game to grace the Virtual Console. SMRPG cracked me up so many times, it was worth it just for the excellent writing...Bowser's haiku was priceless, haha. I wonder if we'll be getting Earthbound for #300? Chronotrigger I could care less about, we were lucky enough to see that released for the DS - I hope they don't use it for the next big release! I want a new title

I disagree with some of the comments...this is NOT the best game ever! The isometric view causes for some problems, you know this if you've played the game. I remember being incredibly frustrated with some of the platforming segments. Not to denounce the game, because it is truly brilliant, but it's not without some (minor) faults. Geno's a monster, Mallow's one of the most interesting characters to grace a Mario game, and having *spoilers*

@BLARGHALT God's name is Sting apparently :) Check out Treasure Hunter G--another SNES game they made, similar pre-rendered style to this and Donkey Kong Country, and excellent, tactical battles. Just rediscovered the translation recently...great game and you can tell it's the same studio that made this game
