I've looked for this song by Jane Froman for 2/3 of my life after seeing Susan Haward in the movie of Jane's life story on TV, and hearing Jane's voice, and I never thought I'd hear it again. I just got the internet and found this site by mistake. What a treasure trove of entertainment. I thought the old time music and musicals were gone forever. If I'm right, Jane sang the song track in this movie "With A Song In My Heart " Correct me if I'm wrong. What a champion woman .
As I hear this again, I can't think of a more magnificent interpreter of a popular song than Froman on this one - with, perhaps, the exception of her version of "Goin' Home"... and/or perhaps of her version of....
I've not watched this for a while - trying instead to keep track of new Froman postings. (She remains my favorite singer, of a repertoire of my favorite songs, after all these years.)I am so happy to see that you continue to show this great performance on You Tube; happier still that viewers continue to appreciate the greatness of Jane Froman.
The photo is of the young Jane and you can see how stunning she was. As she got older she developed more of a singer's chin and the face became more angular. She went from gorgeous to elegant and impressive (not a bad progression, eh?). She loved gorgeous clothes and work them like a million dollars. I have an L.P. with both the soundtrack of "With A Song..." and the Capitol album, which were totally separate.
when i was really young, my parents had a 78 record of jane froman songs, so i really fell in love with her voice-and her story. what an awesom woman!
I don't mind being lonely when my heart tells me you are lonely too...they'll ask me "I'd rather, there are dreams I must gather - dreams we fashioned the night you held me tight - I'll always be near you each night in every prayer if you call me I'll hear you no matter how far just close your eyes and I'll be there...please walk alone and send your kisses to guide me...till you are walking beside ...I'll walk alone.
It would be so wonderful to see Jane Froman herself singing "I'll Walk Alone". Does anyone have this with ability to post online? Please do, or let me know what you might need for support to dothis.
@jeanfss38, I don't think there is any film of that in her archives, alas. I'd love to seeandhear it, too. Has anyone checked at the Paley [whatever it's called now]?
Mihaela.....This is a really old very romantic Song.....Some of the most beautiful words ever written in a Song....This also shows you a picture of Jane Froman.

This beautiful song will always be associated with the delectable Jane Froman.
Who can forget the film scene where she sings it for Robert Wagner. It is so moving.
Thank you for sharing this gem.

My GOD, she was stunning, even more than DDG Susan Hayward. She had such a incredible contralto voice, to boot.

Anyone know what happen to the clip where Froman sings "You'll Never Walk Alone"? Absolutely thrilling. Wonder why it was taken off?

That's because it's not a soprano voice; she's singing alto here.

Heartwarming and touching, but then, again, anything Jane Froman sang was as magnificent as Ms. Froman.
