Oh yeah, and every time a lawyer puts their signature to a complaint on behalf of a client, they are certifying that they are acting in good faith, that they have a good-faith belief that they have a valid (doesn't have to be completely winnable), not fraudulent or frivolous, claim, or be subject to sanctions. There are also numerous restrictions placed on a prosecutor about what he can say to the public. The judge can easily determine whether anyone has violated these rules.

Prosecutors are not only subject to the same ethical considerations as lawyers and could be disbarred if they do not uphold them, but they are also held to higher standards. Secondly, Fitzgerald's record includes taking on both Republicans and Democrats. Keep drinking that Koolaid that says Democrats are to blame for everything and that the world would be perfect if only Republicans could be in power for the next 10-12 years. Uhm - there is a whole Code of Professional Responsibility that addresses the ethical duties of lawyers, including Prosecutors. That Code also holds Prosecutors to a higher standard, due to the sensitive nature of their work. Like I said above, if they were to conduct an investigation in violation of these Rules, they could be brought up in front of a Disciplinary Committee and potentially disbarred. Political, as well as other, favors would not fly in such a situation.
