Not the classic BBC period drama, yet a stunning film and Joseph Fiennes won't be dressing in other outfits than that of 16th century (perfect in Shakespeare in Love, too)
Pride and Prejudice the BBC version, my fav one! :) If you have not seen it yet, and that you're a fan of Jane Austen, get it NOW! It last several hours (something like 6 hours) and the rhythm of the movie is rather slow, but I like it very much that way, and it's very close to the book.
just gorgeous! perfect editing and with that song it makes you cry. Watched it a dozen times allready and I'm still not tired of it. And answer to the above,it's Hayley Westenra 'Dark waltz'.
i love it when it compares shots from all the different programs - especially the carrige one towards the end. ive seen them all except Wuthering Heights and i think Jane Eyres the best by far :)
Real life cannot be like this -- except for a few minutes -- because, oh, how could we stand the rest of our lives? ;) The Bronte novels are as much about struggles between two strong-willed and clever people as affairs of the heart. Not a nice way to live, IMHO. But great job! Excellent choice of music!! No hamsters were harmed, eh? ;)

you ask 'why isn't real life like this?' I assure you in places(while not wearing the most beautiful clothes)it is quite real and truly does happen.
