  • Id love to hear that U-Boat crank up! Love the classic sound! 8-)

  • What a great sounding pair of locomotives!! Caught a nice meet down at Tuckerton a few weeks ago - RBMN SD's on 1 track picking up some hoppers in storage and an NS stack train crisscrossing the Tuckerton Rd. crossing. Perfect timing - that cannot happen too often. Keep the great videos coming!

  • awesome old school switching..dont see that much anymore

  • 1:36 that was a hard joint!

  • Is Reading & Northern railroad still exist?

  • @DouglasP201 yes, go to the website posted right on the side of these locos: rbmnrr.com

  • armyof11, you better do some research on your economics? The reason jobs are lost its because of the democrates high taxes on corporate and buisness.. Other countries not just China, are cashing in because of their low taxes, I said low taxes, US has the highest taxes at 41%.. Thats why all the jobs are disappearing! Don't be suprised if it gets any worse!

  • There's an engine just like this in my hometown of Mountain Top PA.

  • dumb question but wat r they doing

  • @navalman8686 sorting cars so that they are in order for them to drop off at customer locations along the route.

  • GOSTEI.(GOOD) MT BOM. TAMBÉM (HAVE) TENHO ALGUNS VIDEOS (MOVIES) DE TRENS (TRAIN). PARA VÊ-LOS (SEE) NO YOUTUBE É SÓ DIGITAR (CLIC) TREM e FARINA. OBRIGADO (THANK YOU).

  • I can't beleive my eyes! A pair of SD40's doing switch work?? Wow, a little overkill eh? 1 GP7, or even something small like an SW9/1200 would've been more than enough. What's the story with the old U-boat in the background?

  • RBMN has no U-boats or GP7's, etc. The smallest units they have are SW8's and a SW1500, but they are used in the yard shifting and rarly visit this part of the line.

  • Cool. Thanks. Sad seeing the U boat just sitting there on the siding, rotting away.(?)

  • Oh, that's BDLX's now, it had belonged to the Pennsy Supply quarry along the Harrisburg Line, but now it's in Pittston, PA, I don't know for what it is currently used.

  • Thats Busheconomics for sure. Our country and our railroads are not going to be the same to far down the road if China keeps picking us apart. NAFTA does not work for the American Worker. Next it will be Tier 3 and 4 then IMPORT china locomotives and some Republicans will get even richer. remeber its not far off from no operator in the cab railroading. Chinese technology cheap.

  • huh?

  • i agree that NAFTA is a horror. but im a bit confused at your logic. NAFTA was a piece of Democratic legislation, crafted by the leftist "one worlders", and voted against by every republican except mccain. and china is one of the larges purchasers of american locomotives, and have been for years. the largest order of c36-7s went to china, and it was a larger order than all US railroads combined. GE exports is keeping their business alive.

  • One other concern is that I would hope people can copy and post this all over. Here it is. China is going to be buying 300 JT56ace locos'. Ok they say they will meet Tier 2 emissions!? Hmm could this mean now China is going to be using there Dalian Locomotive Works to sell back engines to us cheap and run our own GE's and EMD's out of business like thye are doing to the rest of our economy? We could loose our EMD's forever if china gets in. Just like all the container trains come from china full

  • Yeah hate to say it but ain't that the American way anymore?

  • Yea my only fear is that more people are forgetting that seeing Canadian rialroads all over now is not a good thing. They are trying to buy out our rail system. And keep in mind that the north American free trade means free money and jobs for Canada and Mexico and Banckruptcy for us! Just look at any well car train every container is full of Chinese goods then they go back empty for more.

  • This a great video! I love the old school SD's. My dad yoused to take me out to the local coal and ore docks and let me run a pair of SD-45s they used there on the chessie system. The only question i have is the film a bit fast or is the engineer shoving cuts real quick!! Too sweet old school all the way.

  • He is shoving them pretty quick, although I cut out the idle time, which wasn't very long. They are pretty much in full back-n-forth for 2 hours or more. I really enjoy watching these guys shift, you really can't see much of this on a Class 1 anymore, maybe CN.

  • It amazes to see a handfull of cars being switched on a shortline with 6000 horsepower! Cool video.

  • poor old 2786 looks like a old c-40 i would love to restore that old loco to new condition for show

  • It's a U23B.

  • cool it is a old u boat i wasn't sure i would not mind seeing that thing being restored for a museum. they just don't build locos like they used to

  • Eric, i know where you are at... BUT how do you get down there???

  • I parked in that industrial center's parking lot, and just walked down the hill to the deck. The entrance is on Tuckerton Road just a few hundred feet to the right down from the intersection with PA-61.

  • That's a lot of switching for a two man crew. Aren't shortlines great.

  • They really 'love' to organize those cars :). I was there for about an hour, although they are usually there between 1 and 2 hours to organize and set-off cars.

  • were did you take this ... the sam eplace that you took the 425?????

  • The same place I took 425, this is where the 425 started its journey to Jim Thorpe, the RGQA was right behind 425. I think this place is called Tuckerton.

  • I have seen a lot of Canadien National cars.

  • By Canadian law the cars have to be bi-lingual, on one side it is in English and on the other it is in French. In Canada you see a lot of bill boards and trucks like that too.

  • Great video! Very interesting to see car-kicking in the 21st century.

  • Question? What for old Conrail locomotive is sitting on the side track, Looks to be number 2786. Where did you take this at?

    Len.

  • sweet paint on thos! Great job!

  • Great quality on this one, those EMDs sound great! and btw that engineer has my one dickie hoodie LOL. Great job

  • Heh, yeah that looked familiar. I love those SD40-2's. I would like to see their SD38's and SD50's as well.

  • You mean they have more amazing power? These locos alone look awesome. And where is that Ex Connie going to go?

  • I am not sure, but since it has a BDLX patch, it might be a drilling engine for the quarry at Pennsy Supply in Millards, which is not so far (35 miles) from its current spot. That could explain the misplacement.
