This kind of thing is happening all over. Our manager has just asked us to report any dangerous/rough tracks with a view to asking owners if they could place a box at the entrance to their properties so we don't have to drive down any bad places which could damage vans. Like the fools they are some of the postmen thought this a great idea not realising it's all a plan by RM to get us to save time and then they can put more on us as we don't have so much distance to cover.
I agree it is disgusting that the royal mail are treating people like this especially the fact that there is a post office only 2 miles away from where she lives, why so many royal mail cut backs in the funding
Well said Gazettelive, I am a rural postman and deliver worst lanes than that. You are entitled by law to have a delivery to your letter box. If the postman drove carefully along rough lanes it would be ok, however Royal Mail want to save money, and this is just another way they have thought to save it. The people who make these desicions have never delivered a letter or live in the country/rural areas. Cost should not come into it ,Royal Mail is a SERVICE to the public. End of.
It`s not about service it`s about how to piss off you the customers so that when Brown and co decide to sell the business off, people will think well it`s a load of rubbish anyway, maybe TNT will do better!
Well said Gazettelive! As a postie the USO is what makes us a service, its not about our (RMs) convenience but about our service to you our true customers. YOU the public that pay our wages and expect a service in return and i for one agree 100% with you as a postman.
is Royal Mail a charity or a business ?. Does the bin wagon go to the farmers door or the end of the track where it joins the main rd ?

I agree with Royal mail because the cost of repairing the vehicles that your roads damaged all puts the price of a stamp up.
