  • Youtube Beta Channel is fucking shit!!!!

  • Beta Channel Layouts is piece of fuck shit

THIS MOTHERFUCK 2012 NOT MOTHERFUCK PAST OK

THIS MOTHERFUCK FUTURE NOT GODDAMN PAST OR NOT MOTHERFUCK B.C

    YOUTUBE shouldn't have done that

  • 2009 and earlier: Good

2009 to 2012: Hated at first, then we got used to it.

2012 and later: Horrible. 99.999% of the majority of youtube said negative feedback, youtube ignores. Planning to join ZippCast.

  • You should've named this video"youtube EXPOSED."

  • The all new channels are even worst, you can't even see your own videos !!!!!

  • These new changes are even worst.

    R.I.P YouTube.

  • The 2011 channel is even worse than this -_- hope Youtube won't force it on everyone like they did with the Beta Channel

  • @bokmanrocks2 I am quite certain they will :(

  • On the upside.... we are now 2 and a half years into it. Even Columbus eventually sighted land! So soon we'll be entering the catchment period of the next style of channel surely. How long do you think this annoying phase will last? Let's just hope it doesn't get worse that's all.

  • So they're making all these changes to get us off of YouTube? If Google doesn't want people on YouTube then why do they even own the site? Why did they buy it?

  • Everyone! If you want the old layout, go to Zippcast.com, it has it! spread the word, and leave youtube and join zippcast, lets make google pay!

copy and paste! do your part

  • @jakers5853 The new channels are not safe because they can crash

  • We have to spam YouTube forever to protest getting the layout back.. We cant Really protest them because their HQ is at San Bruno

  • how do you do interactive videos with the new layout??:/

  • absolutely agre I finished with youtube and will not upload more vids coz it sux

  • beta channels scare me. i want the old ones back! they're safe! =D

  • Beta looks fucking HORRIBLE, plus it's glitchier than a motherfucker.

Half the time videos don't even SHOW UP in playlists, or entire channels simply refuse to load.

  • i still have the old one

  • @wpoy14

not anymore they r forcing people now.

  • beta channels suck

  • for god's sake, i had the normal good old layout, it survived, and now they forced it, fuck youtube for doing this, they're getting on my nerves, i mean, i wish it was good old youtube

  • yeah, youtube isn'tmuch fun anymore.

  • my channel is now crap because youtube changed EVERYONE"S CHANNELS!!

  • they changed mine too!

  • But just like your video says I;m going to keep on uploading videos and waste theuir money, and i won't click ont their advertisments (mist of them have viruses anyways)

  • word. I'm only watching videos now anyway, I really don't care about youtube anymore, it's a fucking website.

  • yeah it's only a website . .

  • yup...it's bullshit I'm opening 15 channels....all crap...all wasting space....And I'm flooding all of them with noprofit pointlessness...if it works the way you say....

  • D: My channel got changed over now. Okay, yeah, where's my background?! Sheezus, I am /so/ joining this protest. Count me in for the molotov thing! >3

  • OK!

  • THEY CHANGED MINE YESTERDAY!!

    O___O

  • damn!

  • Yeah; the beta curse rests on my channel

    -_-"

  • lol i dont want that beta shit and yt changed my channel...lol i dont want it!

  • neither do I! I'm glad they didn't change my channel!

  • Clearly the only solution here is a revolt.

    Grab the molotovs.

  • haha

  • Okay I've had the old design since I started out here and my profile was changed over to the new one literally today (the day this comment was posted). I can honestly say it sucks! You can't even see the background anymore; what's the point of having one if you can't even see it? It's difficult to load too, and for those with older computers I'll bet it takes up a TON of memory. I for one am DEFINITELY going to protest this change. How some can't see how this sucks I don't understand.

  • I'm currently using a computer with 128mb of ram, and it works fine for me. But it still looks pretty crappy.

  • Well at least it loads pretty well for you. ^^ But for me it's the opposite, and my family just upgraded our internet.

I'm in complete agreement with you on the way it looks!

  • We all have our own opinions of it, I guess.

  • Yeah thats true

I just dont see peoples reason for not liking it

  • Part of why I don't like it is because I think the top toolbar kind of crowds out the rest of the page, so you have to scroll down more.

  • oh yes i see what you mean

  • agreed

  • Yes i have a new channel/account and I wanted to go back the the old lay out and they would let me!!! They changed the page comments, in which I miss also.... They have changed when you sub someone you can click if you want to sub to what they rate and favorite also. can you take that off? if you want privacy? That is so true about ad clicking, listen to this man

  • You can change your privacy settings, yes, but there isn't any way to use the old layout if your channel is new. :(

  • Yeah I think it's just for putting that extra channel ad up. That's just sad, really.

  • yeah

  • old is gold

  • new is poo

  • my profile hasnt changed ? but i just made a new profile and can u change it back to the old one ?

  • Not if your account is new. :(

  • down with beta

  • Yep.

  • seriously i loved the old style much better

  • This guy is smart

  • lol thanks

  • Who designed this new beta ?

    Who is this person ?

    Where is he from ?

What was he thinking while designing it ?

Why did he or she thought that we will Love Beta ?

  • who knows

  • hahaha true

  • you can actually switch to the old one by hitting "revert" on your channel page

  • word

  • My friend quit because of this beta channel nonsense.

  • Damn, that sucks.

  • who the fuck cares? dont gloat on youtube if you dont like their way of trying to inovate

  • I don't really care either, I'm just trying to explain why YouTube is making these changes, and how people can protest.

  • Hi,

I agree and I disagree. Not that I trust Youtube at all. But protest and anti/nobeta videos do work and quite successfully I might add. What are we going to do? Not say anything and not voice our opposition?

Not only have they not forced on the July 15. They unlocked those who wanted to change back from beta to old channels.

Now, Google claims it's committed to free speech and expression. Well Okay. It remains to me seen, But I'm hopeful.

    Danny

    /watch?v=Umh1nhaBeDw&feature=channel

  • They pushed back the date because the channels aren't ready yet. They said so in their blog. As for those who want to switch back, maybe they finally heard us after we posted over 60,000 comments. But up until now, they've shown that they don't care about us.

  • omg......as long as you can upload videos and watch videos who gives a fuckin shit???AND IT LOOKS ALMOST THE SAME!!!

  • I know, I don't really get the big hype, I'm simply explaining why YouTube doesn't listen to the users.

  • its july and i dont have the beta channel youtube has not change it

  • Yeah, they pushed back the changeover date to have time to fix some shit that's not finished yet.

  • The way you narrate kind of reminds me of the person who narrates for the channel: realweeklynews.

  • Lol OK.

  • i rather like the new design

  • Ooh, really? What do you like about it?

  • i personali think it looks beter and easier 2 use...well thats mi opinion n e wais :)

  • I guess we're all entitled to our own opinions. I personally like the old layout better.

  • What is so bad about the fact that Google is making money from YouTube?

I reckon that once the new channel design is ready for the full release it will be at least as good as the old one. I really don't see why everyone hates the new channel design so much.

  • I'm not saying the fact that they're making money is a bad thing. I'm simply explaining why they're not listening to the users. I think it's a good thing that they're making money, because it keeps the website free.

I myself don't like the new channel design very much, because it's kind of crowded by the bar at the top. I don't really hate it, I'd just prefer the old layout. I don't really get the big fuss either.

  • i have a new account and i can't put old channel the new is very suck i hate

  • Yeah, I know, new users aren't allowed to use the old layout. But it doesn't matter, because they're switching over on Wednesday anyway.

  • this sucks!

  • Agreed!

  • Thanks for all the comments everyone :)

  • Yeah, the beta channels look awful. Here's another problem, though: if you leave, where are you going to post videos? YouTube does this shit because they know they have control over the internet video industry; they're a monopoly. There are certainly other websites to use, but YouTube is by far the most popular.

I'll stick around, though, because even though I don't like the new layout, I still like YouTube. As long as I can upload videos, and as long as there's a partner program, I'm staying.

  • Is it going to force all of us to change even if we aren't stupid enough to try it in the first place??? It should be a choice. I thought this was youtube - " Broadcast yourself " .. NOT youtube- " Broadcast yourself according to US ".

    what a bunch of crap

  • Yes, the changes are going to be forced. I agree that it should be a choice. But that doesn't mean that they're stopping you from broadcasting yourself. You can still upload videos, right? Plus, there are some people who like the new layout, and think it would be stupid of YouTube to keep the old one. I personally like the old design better, but everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

  • well actually...they somewhat allow you to broadcast yourself...but they monitor the content and especially the music. If your content has to do with religious things...your video can be flagged and taken off....And if you use almost any song now, They either cancel your audio or shut down your video entirely ., So ya...it is more "broadcast yourself according to US ".

  • Comment removed

  • Who says WHO has to pay the channels they put WHAT on?

  • Youtube can put ads wit out their consent, but they let them choose.

They are not all about the money.

    I win.

  • Without whose consent? I don't understand your point...

  • The users consent, in the partner applications, they ask you if you want ads on your videos.

  • 1) There's an asterisk next to that check mark, meaning you have to check it. That's simply a way of acknowledging that there will be ads next to your videos.

    2) The whole point of the partner program is to have ads next to your videos to generate revenue.

    3) Answer my goddamn question. If. YouTube. Isn't. All. About. Money. Then. What. Are. They. About.

  • Their motives are unclear. If I say they are not about the money, why would I know what they're all about.

It is clear they are not all about the money. 'family safe' new channel designs, Not putting ads on every video, and if they're popular enough give them some of the revenues.

  • I've already explained the reasoning behind all of these things.

  • The music stuff is due to copyright. YouTube has no say in that, it's the law. Yes, I suppose the religious videos do get flagged a lot, but that's largely due to the fact that people with viewpoints that oppose those expressed in the video flag the video a lot, so the video gets flagged a lot. When enough people flag a video, it automatically gets removed.

  • Then I vote for the BETA option ;-)

And please do not "stick around" do us all a favore !

  • You guys are so stupid! Just click the "revert back to my old channel" if you don't like the new layout.

  • its going to make them permanent you idiot!

    Who is so stupid now?

  • lol owned

  • But starting July 15th, ALL channels will change.

  • Exactly.

  • The changes are going to become permanent soon.

  • youtube the shitty no lifers, why do they have to force us into these shit beta channels? they look ridicioulsly awful, no where near as good as the old ones, im getting sick of this beta name.....anything thats called beta is not good at all especially this new channel layout

5/5 for this video great work man!

  • I agree, it looks like shit! You're right, from my experience with "beta" programs, they're usually not very good, and this new layout is no exception.

    Thanks for rating!

  • メール来たけれど、出来れば日本語字幕つくてくれるとうれしい。

  • English please?

  • you ask for change now you got change simple is that buddy ?heheh

  • I didn't ask for change, I liked YouTube the way it was before.

  • Which is my points, thanks you for showing youtube is not all about the money. They don't have ads on those videos even though they could. They let them stay up even though they cost money. You just defeated yourself in the argument.

  • If YouTube began putting ads on every video, rather than just partner videos, then they would actually lose money through the partner program. If they did that, ALL the revenue on the non-partner videos would go to YouTube, but on partner videos, they have to split the money with the partners. This means they lose money. That would render the partner program pointless. (continued)

  • Plus, with ads next to every video, advertisers would be seen next to all kinds of content, including some random Joe's "me and my friends getting drunk" video. Maybe you wouldn't have a problem advertising with this kind of content, but corporations do.

Ultimately, the solution for YouTube to make more money is to make people have to fill out a form and get approved to start uploading videos and get ad revenue, with ads on every video. (continued)

  • I suspect that this may be YouTube's fate within about a year. YouTube is slowly making the change toward this goal. If they did everything overnight, that would be devastating for them. But this way, they're slowly phasing out the small users.

And you still haven't answered my question. If YouTube isn't all about money, then what are they about?

  • i shall punch youtube if they change my account!

  • Lol! What are you going to do, fly to San Bruno and punch someone at YouTube headquarters in the face?

  • hmm...its not a bad idea! yep thats exactly what im gonna do! then im gonna make a youtube protester account :)

  • Lol nice.

    Thanks for commenting :-)

  • -on my way- im gonna keep commenting lol

  • in jail? :P

  • Who are you replying to?

  • iAlyyy, he will be in jail for punching a youtube person, or atleast i think he will...

  • i miss old layout i saw many people with them and i can't get it

  • Yeah, I'm not going to voluntarily switch to the new layout. I'm waiting until July 15th.

  • Well, i really despise the new layout, and everything about it.

But i see why they're doing it, it costs millions of dollars a day for them to contain this website (so many videos are uploaded all day)

But i believe they should use a different method of money raising.

  • Yeah, I agree, but they'll never listen to us.

  • Just because youtube doesn't have as much, doesn't mean they can't use that formula. Just because they have 'less' as you put it doesn't mean it would not work. It is like running a big candy shop, and a smaller candy shop doesn't run it the same way just because they have less choices. But wouldn't it be in ration just as successful. Yes it would.

  • True, but what about my other point, regarding the difference between the purposes of Google and YouTube? Changes to Google affect everyone, because almost everyone searches on Google. When more people search, they get more ad clicks. But the changes that YouTube has been making really only affect people with accounts. People with accounts cost YouTube money. Therefore, they're trying to get rid of people with accounts.

  • Which is my point, when people search and come across the videos, the videos have ads. Which is how they make money.

Or people use their channel promoter and pay for views, which if you think about it, the same as paying to put your site at the site. Which is a lot like google, why not make it completely like google except with a community.

And if they were all about the money then they would not even let us have an account. ;)

  • Only partner videos have ads, and I'd say that about less than 1% of the users on YouTube could actually qualify for partnership. The other 99% are costing YouTube money.

These changes separate those who don't qualify for partnership from those who do. The ones who aren't trying to become a YouTube partner will probably give up, but those who are, because they need the money or for some other reason, will probably continue. I'm not saying that this is how it works with everyone (continued)...

  • ...but for most people. This way, YouTube is trying to achieve the goal of only partners actually having an account. That's why they're still allowing people to create an account, with the hopes that some of them will become a YouTube partner.

Yes, they could make it so nobody can make a new account anymore. But then, they'd have no new partners, meaning they don't make as much money.

Now, let's get back to the original question. If YouTube isn't all about money, then what are they about?

  • Yeah, they still made more money, but if they were all about the money, how come they prevented him from making videos? O.o

    Fucking owned

  • You still fail to answer my question. Why didn't they kick him off entirely?

  • Money, which it is not all about, only a bit.

    I still win.

    And now answer mine.

  • Because they don't want to discourage advertisers from doing business with them. If the advertisers see their ads being displayed next to his insanely angry and inappropriate rants, they might discontinue business with him. But this way, YouTube appears like they're at least trying to do something about it. Therefore, they can still do business with the advertisers.

  • You're trying to say advertisers don't want to be next to him. But when he was 'suspended' they still ads on him. So wouldn't the advertisers still be upset about that. If that was the case they would just get rid of his partnership. But your whole point destroys your previous arguments as well. You say it is all about the money, yet you say they blocked him to stop advertisers from discontinuing. Which makes no sense then let him go back on. xD

    I win.

  • No, I'm saying advertisers don't want to be next to inappropriate content. YouTube of course removes this inappropriate content. By suspending him for 2 weeks, they're essentially disciplining him, hoping that he'll stop posting inappropriate videos (which he did, notice over 2/3 of his videos are deleted.) This way, advertisers continue advertising with TJ, and YouTube doesn't have to suspend him entirely, since this would mean they lose money.

  • Then why can't they put advertisements that are just as inappropriate as him. They won't be putting a Christian advertisement next to him....because he supports atheism, which goes for anything. They'll put something like atheism ad or what people that are watching him are interested in. So if it sells, I doubt advertisers would care as long as they make money. So your argument just falls to pieces.

  • 1) You're basically saying that they should display pornographic, disgusting, or otherwise inappropriate advertisements. OK, I've got that straight.

    2) There is less of a market for pornographic and other inappropriate advertisements than there is for appropriate advertisements. If YouTube began serving the minority who want to display porn ads, they would end up losing the majority who want to post safe ads, since these people don't want their ads to be associated with porn.

    continued

  • 3) Even if there is more of a market for porn ads, there's still another problem. He violated both YouTube and AdSense's ToS by posting obscene and defamatory material. So, because of this, they remove his videos anyway, even if he's not making them money.

    4) His religious views have nothing to do with the appropriateness (or lack thereof) of his content. His videos were inappropriate whether he represented atheist or christian views.

  • You earlier said they were all about the money, now you're saying it is all about family safe. If they were all about the money, then they'd place inappropriate ads.

Which means they're not all about the money....and the minority wants that stuff would look it up, if the majority wanted family safe they'll look up family safe material.

  • You've missed my point entirely. YouTube needs to be family-safe in order to make more money.

You are saying that YouTube should be both a porn site and a family-safe site. That doesn't work. Even if you don't see porn unless you search for it, word would still get around that YouTube is allowing porn on their site. This news would surely reach the advertisers who display safe ads. And that would be the end of their business with YouTube.

  • Well seeing that google owns youtube, and I am a horny old man, I should know they display porn ads. Which means you can run a 'family safe' and porn.

    I think I win. ;)

I like your spirit though, I'll sub.

  • That's different. Although YouTube may be huge, Google is still WAY bigger. Not only does Google cover YouTube, but it also covers Blogspot, Adwords, Adsense, Google Video, Maps, Google Earth, SketchUp, Gmail, and dozens of other programs, not to mention searching for EVERYTHING ON THE INTERNET. YouTube is video and social networking only. Besides, YouTube has never allowed pornography on their site, including in their ads. Google is about searching the entire internet, which includes porn.

  • But thanks for subscribing, I hope you enjoy my videos.

  • Well since google is bigger, why not try to copy the winning formula instead of using stuff that does not work. You can see youtube community is angry. Why not give them what they want. Google succeeded. Youtube is failing right now.

It makes no sense to keep doing what they're doing.

  • Lol. Now we're right back where we started. Watch the video to see why YouTube doesn't respond to the community.

YouTube is making these changes BECAUSE they're losing money. They're trying to get people who make them little or no money to stop making videos and start clicking their ads. Posting videos costs YouTube money.

Also, I have wondered several times if these changes were actually requested by YouTube's sponsors (in other words they might have gotten paid to remove bulletins.)

  • Also, in regards to your "winning formula" argument:

When YouTube responds to the needs of the users, they are encouraging people to make videos and post comments, which costs them money. But when Google responds to the needs of the searcher, they get more searches. More searches = more ad clicks.

  • They would of made more money if they let him keep making money.

    Once again...Win.

  • If you're so smart, then surely you can think of a better reason that they didn't kick him off entirely.

    Oh wait, you can't.

  • EVERYONE!

Tell all of your friends and subbers to subscribe to TheNoBeta and also to make their videos private on July 8th(all non-protest videos)

  • Lol OK.

  • To make sure he stays family friendly.

Bam, once again I win. If you watched his vids at tjvids you can see they were complaining about offensive material.

  • Normally people get suspended for having that many offensive videos, but he didn't. Why not?

That's right. Because they want to continue making money off of him.

  • Also, stop saying "I win" over and over again, because saying "to make sure he stays family friendly" doesn't answer the question. That doesn't explain why they let him return to YouTube. But whatever, I won't try and confuse you with the facts. Just keep pretending that you're a winner, even though you're not, and you'll be fine.

  • But they would of made more money if they didn't kick him off.

    See. I win.

  • Dude. They DIDN'T kick him off. He couldn't post videos for two weeks, but his videos were still up. Kicking him off would be taking down his channel entirely.

  • That's the sparta trend.

  • lol nice

  • THIS IS YOUTUBE

  • Beta layout sucks, I don't get why they just keep it how it is. If you want the beta u can get it, if you dont want it then don't! And it's funny how to get Beta it says "Upgrade my Channel", they're calling it an upgrade

  • I agree! Although, the beta layout does bring some new features, so in a sense it IS an upgrade. For example, you can save color schemes and stuff to use them again later, but why can't they just add that to the old layout?

  • Yeah your right. If I get partnered I'd take it no doubt about it. But I would probably say something to YouTube to see if they'd listen to me then

  • I don't think they even listen to the partners (except Fred.) They don't care about the users, and they don't want anyone except partners here.

  • Of course, they have no reason to care about anyone else

  • The new Beta does not allow you to put your favorited videos in the order that you want them to be in. Nor can you position the favorited video box to were you want them to be. And what about having the comment box automaticly displayed under the featured video box. That would be an improvement as well..

  • Agreed.

  • I'm featuring this video,.
