  • Awesome thought for the day. Might give it a try :)

  • Reminds me of a great book called "Back to Virtue" by Peter Kreeft. An amazing book! Its a great read about the virtues and how to battle the 7 deadly sins.

  • GREAT VIDEO, You hit the nail on the head Micheal, God bless

  • My kids are studying this right now in the form of Catholic Action and the spiritual and corporal works of mercy...

  • Another great explanation! How do you come up with these topics?

  • Good Job Mr. Voris. Might I also add a good summary from Josef Pieper's "The Four Cardinal Virtues: "The meaning of the virtue of prudence ... is ... that not only the end of human action but also the means for its realization shall be in keeping with the truth of real things. This in turn necessitates that the egocentric "interests" of man be silenced in order that he may perceive the truth of real things, an so that reality itself may guide him to the proper means for realizing his goal."

  • Asides from the CCC, could you please give me what book you most recommend with regard to learning about the cardinal and theological virtues?

  • @erix4erix

If you are an avid reader, Etienne Gilson is nearly indespensible; particularly his "Christian Philosophy of Thomas Aquinas". It does not read as quick as some other books as I found it is intended to be read aloud rather than to oneself. It reads as a prayer and should be able to be read many times over increases depth of understanding with each interration.

    alms. fasting. prayer.

  • Thank you for doing this series, I had never really thought virtue as being a practical matter.
