there are 2 thing that are bad abotu secnd life. you have to pay to upload picures and you have to have payment info to buy land i want to know why?

the cost of running a company...pure and simple.

It costs for bandwidth, it costs to maintain and run servers which the land and all of Second Life is on, a mass of servers.

Uploading a picture, again, the same reason. You can't run a company/game without getting a fair amount income/profit.

free to play games like Silk Road, Runescape, WarRock...they make their income from item stores and such.

So long as SL has free accounts, so long as SL doesn't make me give them info such as passport number to be in it... As long as there are freebie creators and provider and there are ways to earn money like camping and picks (if you don't want to buy L$) SL is still great!

Consider it like taxes, you want this world to keep existing you pay them.

SL as it is, just isn't expensive to be part of and I really hope it stays on this course for years and years to come.

On the other hand I don't like how helpless I feel against the decisions that LL make, it is a dictatorship actually, I have no say, especially as one single basic account holder.

And this worries me if LL ever decide to make a decision I can't accept, I'll have to leave all my friends there behind.
