@nastasepatrucase We are both wrong! They used electroluminescent seven segment displays, which were driven by relays and explains the slow update rate. Still impressive for 1966 and the AGC's architecture undoubtedly formed the basis for practically all early computers right up to the 90's.
THIS COMPUTER IS NAMED AGC (apollo guidance computer) get a orbiter simulator and nassp addon to see what this working (virtual agc can compile real software for real agc!)
Well ... why would somebody question a computer that is real? The Computer exists, that's for sure. U can see the Parts in Museums. Ram's, Rom's, Processors, There is no question about the computer. But does that proof a Moon landing? No. So why question the computer. A computer that by the way would not have been able to stand Temperatures between -40 and +100 degrees Celsius. The standard Temperature on the Moon.
You realize this wasn't on the moon, right? I'm pretty sure this was the ship that remained in orbit around the moon. And even if it was a part of the LEM, I don't think I read the transcript where they took the ship apart to take the computer outside.
Face it, there's a logical explanation for everything conspiracy theorists bring up.
@Rodnox You are correct in that the ICs would not work in those extreme temperatures as most military-grade ones can only operate between 0 and 70 degrees Centigrade. The use of insulation and simple heaters, however would prevent the boards from being exposed to those kinds of temperatures and would therefore allow them to work perfectly. I'd be questioning the 28V dc 640Am batteries if I were you.
A computer that he never used, LOL!

Read That A Cell Phone Today Has Over A Thousand Times More Computing Power Than The Computers That Landed Our Astronauts On The Moon. WOW!

In fact the AGC couldn't guide the space ship all by itself, it was not powerful enough to do all the guiding alone.
An analog computer was doing most of the job; only analog computers were efficient enough to guide planes and space ships at that time.
Digital computers only were of secondary help.

Cool. Backlit LCD in the 60's. We didn't see this technology until the 80's!

@davemckiernan uh wrong i had a backlit unisonic calculator in 1976 not LED but LCD model 1499r scientific
datzfast 9 months ago
@datzfast It was a 10 digit plus 2 exponent red LED scientific with case. They were fascinating pieces of kit though.

@davemckiernan nope it was green LCD

@davemckiernan No electroluminescent display. Pete Conrad was a big advocate of the technology.

This might come to you as a surprise, but the computer is in the crew department where -40 and +100 degrees Celsius is not a standard temperature ;)

Just wait. There are conspiracists all over YT, so they will discover this too. I really don't care. I pity them.
I noticed most of them are with the CIA. A bunch of sad guys without a life.
(CIA=Conspiracy Idiots Alliance)
Nice footage indeed.

Very cool. It's also great that no conspiracy nuts have posted on here calling the video a fake. At least, not yet.
