Once again, try picking the handcuffs while they are on your wrists, behind the back, with the key holes facing away from your hands, and with the handcuffs double locked.
@lindebr You missed the point of the video. It was claimed and assumed by many that split paw cuffs could not be picked. I was showing that they could be, and with a straight piece of metal. That could not be seen by the viewers by doing it they way you describe. I do pick these live all the time at the anti-abduction, and Urban Escape and Evasion (SOF ONLY) classes in front of the students. And by the end of the class, all of the students do as well.
@KellyAlwood I didn't miss the point at all. All you have shown is the ability to escape being handcuffed to a stationary object, but only if the handcuffed are not double locked.
I will suggest to you that neither you, or any of your students can escape from a pair of handcuffs that have been put on them as I have described.
The split paw is there to resist shimming, not picking of the lock. And you are suggesting that somehow you have defeated the split paw by picking the lock.
@lindebr Mr. Alwood does cover the double lock in classes, you should check one out some time, there supper fun, and the most affordablr tactical training around.
@lindebr Yes he does, class kinda went like this, learn and pratice with handcuffs off, practice with on front, learn the double lock, practice, practice, practice! then practice while on front, then after you feel confident practice on back.
@lindebr I am sure that a box around the cuffs will stop anyone from escaping as well. Hate to say it even behind your back the cuffs have been picked, and if you knew anything about getting out of them you would know that. Try this link for something even more amazing. Try looking up "How to escape from hand cuffs. Real Prison Video!!!!" I don't know how to reply with a vid.
@MarkMcGrath@MarkMcGrath I've seen that video, and impressive, had the prisoner been properly handcuffed, it would have been very difficult for him to generate enough force to pop the double locks, and get access to the pin in his sandals.
It would be difficult to manipulate any sort of pick when your palms are facing outward.
If you have a pair of cuffs at home, try locking your wrists in front of you, palms out and see if you can even insert the key in, when the holes are facing you.

Then upload a video of that, this is nothing.

@magicmanofsteel2000 Does he teach you how to pick the handcuffs when they are on your person, behind the back?
I'm sure what he teaches is better than not knowing at all, I'm just curious to find out what exactly he is teaching.

@lindebr also look up: Kelly Alwood films student escaping phone cord behind the back
thats me escaping from behind the back at his class, he teaches all kinds of restraint escapes at the class

@magicmanofsteel2000 I watched the video, but am not understanding the point of the dark cord which you put your foot into.
The light coloured phone cord wrapped around your wrists was tied very loosely.
