Mine drops a single bar when I hold it normally. On the other hand, WiFi reception is horrible. It only improves when I'm not touching the antenna (any part of the steel bar around the iPhone) at all.

There is a reason why manufacturers put antennas inside of the devices.

I just death gripped my 4s. you just have to bridge the two caps on the left aswell as the on the top of the right side. Apple seems to have designed the antennas so that there are two individual ones. 1 on the left and on on the top for the carrier signal, the one on the right probably would be bluetooth.

So you can still make the signal drop however no one would ever hold their phone, the way I did do drop the signal, like that unintentionally or during a phone call

The iphone 4s definitely has the death grip. My friend was making a phone call to me with the verizon version and he would cut in and out. I told him to not hold the bottom of the phone and then suddenly I can hear him. I have to remind him alot how to hold his phone so I can hear him. lol

This is true. They actually fixed this problem with the 4S. It doesn't do this on the 4S. Go on Apple.com and read... lol they moved the antenna elsewhere because of this problem.
