Thanks again for the response. I went and tried on a 4 in 1 jacket today and assume that the 5 in 1 and 3 in 1 are similar to it. Definitely thick and heavy, although maybe the versatility of the inner fleece would be nice. I'm still torn!
@snareman Yes that is right no zip in feature, just layered. But I take them on and off together like they are attached. Not too "tactical" looking. I wear it all the time and only get comments asking if it is a motorcycle jacket. I wear it w/ shirt and tie and don't feel I stand out at all. Looks like one of those newer outdoor North Face style types.
IT does help. Thanks. There isn't a place to zip a fleece in is there? You mean just to wear one over a fleece? Also, how tactical/non-tactical would you say it is for every day wear for a civilian? Thanks
@snareman95 I find it warm enough for my needs during the fall and spring. During the winter if it gets cold I layer a 5.11 fleece with it and it becomes plenty warm. I fact sometimes I find myself sweating in it with the fleece added. If I lived in Alaska or Wisconsin I would be in trouble, but in ordinary winter weather it does fine for me. I found the 3 in 1 to be too much coat. I prefer the trim fit over the Michelin man look. Hope that helps.
the deep pockets inside of the jacket are for the back up belt system. 5.11 sells things such as holsters hand cuff cases ect that will stick to the fleece inside the pocket so you can carry .
I'm pretty thin. I'm about 5'10", 140 lbs. The jacket is size medium. I probably could have done alright with a small, but I wear the heavy fleece jacket underneath in the winter. With the fleece, it fits well and it is plenty warm. Also, I wear all the usual stuff on my belt (pistol, mags, light, cell phone, etc), so the medium works better for me for concealment.
Nice video, just to many zippers on top! They need a flap to hid that.

How warm do you think this jacket would be for the winter? I'm debating between this and the thicker 3 in 1 parka.
