#4 "let all the traffic past you" often doesn't work while crossing at intersections with no traffic light during rush hour, even if there is a crosswalk.

You just have to find a gap that's long enough and dash through, and all the aggressive drivers during rush hour definitely don't help.

I remember growing up in Rural Ireland in the 70's and used to lve the SCC. I remember having to do a SCC test in National School and the SCC blue badge with Judge from Wanderly Wagon arrived about 3 weeks later. Brilliant memories.

Does anyone remember the other Public Safety Ads from the time, the barrell of water on the farm with the kids legs sticking up from it, love all the really crass ads from the time, so funny now. Thanks for posting.

Tell me about it. Growing up in a rural village there was still a horse and cart bringing churns to the creamery. Living in California now my wife thinks I've lost it, just made her watch the national anthem closedown from 1980's RTE and now a spirited rendition of the safe cross code.
