Nunie doesn't get enough credit for his singing with the TMX. Shawn gets the publicity with his name, and he is very talented, but Nunie Rubio is a very talented singer. Love this band and the music. Need more of it and it needs to get to mainstream. On second thought, mainstream would just f*#k up the great sound they have.
Shawn is Doug's eldest son and actually played guitar in Doug's later incarnations of the Sir Douglas Quintet during the 80's and 90's. Another SDQ veteran, George Rains, is seen here on drums.
First time I heard of Shawn was in '83 when he was in his hair-metal band Prezence. Liked him then, like him now.

I saw these guys at Stubb's warming up for Los Lonely Boys. They were awesome. You really need to see them live to appreciate them.
