Aweome....i just replaced the impeller om my 61 Merc 6hp(the old one was toast) now it shoots a good stream i also riged up a momentary open kill switch (that worked great til i tilted the motor)......me bad......i should have bid on the right kill button assy from ebay.....(sold for $12).........duh..............
Hi i just bought this same motor today and dont know much about it . I was wondering if it is a 2 stroke and if so what kind of fuel mix should be used ?? thank you . and tips on getting this outboard started for its first time in who knows how long would be very much appreciated thank you .
where does the water come out i found this motor in a box and am putting it together. i can see where it comes from the back but dont know where? thanks.

Hmm, I am just about to get one of these out of the shed, got new decals, got the paint and it is a rather cool something to do for winter down here...................
awesome video demonstration i have a '65 of that engine that im going to put on a 12 foot john boat check out my similar video demonstration with my 12' john boat and a mint 1972 evinrude 2hp it gets on plane because im light (134 lbs) and the boat is super lights as well and i sat in the opimal position in that boat for speed
Hey man I just got mine running today... Had to put a new impeller in it cause it wasn't spitting water... Mine still doesn't spit water as good as yours any ideas? I get a mist out of the exaust hole and just a small dribble on that side hole... yours shoots a good stream... What can I do? The motor starts on the fourth pull cold... I would hate to seize a great runner do to poor cooling.... Any help would be great... thanks and nice video!!!
Are you sure the "wave washer" is installed? It sits on top of the plate on top of the impeller. It puts pressure on the top plate. You NEED it. Mine would not pump water either untill i realized the wave washer was missing.
