  • @Dale Harvey...right fucking on..saw him play 18 times, we used to watch him and pull our hair out of our heads.NOBODY played like em before or after....I had a small career for a while cause I could do a decent Bonham, so I got hired, but I just copped some his stuff like we all do. God pointed down at JB and said 'YOU, GO FORTH AND KILL IT' and he did, totally irreplaceable and gave me respect for the humanity of the band, unlike the Who...and a sweet family man to boot , lovely man...

  • @mppaiges Great observations. JB was a gifted master who laid down mind-bending grooves in the context of incredible songs. It's one thing to copy some of the triplets, etc., but imagine him w/ Page/Plant/Jones in studio coming up with with the right stuff. From Good times/Bad Times (the infamous 16th note bass triplet), through Kasmir, Custard Pie etc. Every live version of Moby Dick is different, each stunning in its own way. And yes, I think if he had his way he would have been home more.

  • They cut the best parts !!!

  • I have been playing the drums since i was 19 and i still cannot do what he can do,he is the best drummer i have ever heard,no drummer will ever do waht he can do.from Dale Harvey.

  • For very rare downloads albeight many of Led Zep, Youtube should consider adding an "utterly love and could kill for it" button

  • Led Zep is just a 4menmachine ... they are one and that makes them unique.

  • come back bonzo!!!!!!!

  • I adore Jimmy Page as a guitarist- but his undeniably catchy way with a riff would have made him a star in any band, and Plant is utterly unique and great, too, but I have always contended that it was the Bonham/Jones rhythm team that made LZ unstoppable. They had DEEP groove, not just technically impressive but soulful and uncannily connected, like one giant brain playing drums & bass guitar at the same time... just wonderful. This is Bonzo FOOLIN' AROUND and it is still a great drum solo!

  • who needs a double base? HA!

  • @150rex I don't know, but some people may need a double bass?

  • This is off of Olympic Gold recording, popular CD of outtakes from the 1968 first album sessions, and a lot of Jimmy Page's studio guitar work before he formed Zeppelin. This recording of the full drum solo was cut down and edited and spliced in to the Moby Dick instrumental. I'll throw up some more, enjoy!!

  • Chills......this is just amazing. I heard 3 or 4 different solo pieces here. Where did you get this? HOW did you get this??? Fuck me, it's this sort of thing that keeps us Zep/JHB lovers online. Discovery is great! Thankyou for sharing.

  • @splatt33face OH YEA !

  • this is the original studio recording of Moby Dick, they cut it down and inserted it in to the instrumental part to make it a full song.

  • Shame they had to edit this!

  • not only can you hear it,but its like getting a punch in the chest.

  • Where do you find this stuff?

  • from 3.30 is story
