  • what about black macbooks its different

  • you should do the same type of video but for ibooks

  • @calebdoogles - Already have. I took the footage a month ago. Just haven't finished editing it together yet.

  • You should have mentioned that we should clean out any dust in the computer with compressed air. Great video!

  • Is it just me, or does it seem like Apple loves to make their stuff harder to work on than other companies?

  • Great tutorial, very well explained! Thank you...Warm regards from Mexico!

  • I love your channel - guns+macs. just like me :D

  • what was that tiny little thing you threw away at the video and why?

ummm... how do i send my macbook so i can get my screen fixed??

cuz there is like a 2 in black bar running up and down the screen right in the middle...

    can you message me please?

  • I SPOILT MINE!NOW I CAN BUY A NEW ONE!

  • Do you have GSX?

  • @macprorocks - no. I use virtualbox.

  • @adric22 No - I mean access to ordering Apple parts

  • @macprorocks - No. I buy most of my spare parts from eBay or from other broken Macs I can salvage.

  • Another great video from ibookguy. This definitely helps.

  • @adric22 Very clear and informative video, really great job. Thank you for making this, it is very helpful!

  • When I start up my MacBook, I can see just a hint of dark spots in the screen when on the Apple logo. When the desktop appears though, I can't see those dark spots. My display doesn't flicker, produces good color and picture. Is there anything wrong?

  • @Dell0304 - Those are probably just pressure damage spots. They are more visible on a solid color background. When you get some picture or pattern on the screen our eyes can't differentiate the darker spots. There's nothing you can really do besides replace the LCD panel. If it doesn't bother you too much, just leave it alone. It won't get any worse unless the screen gets a lot of pressure applied somewhere. (even from the back side)

  • @adric22 Oh, I see. I did buy this machine used. I love the thing. Macs rule.

    Thank you for your reply.

  • cool

  • I have the same macbook and the backlight sometimes goes out when the laptop is moved or the screen is tilted. When this happens i can get the screen to work again by playing with the brightness up/down buttons on the keyboard, but it only works for a couple seconds. is this a backlight inverter issue as well?

  • @remurdereht - Most likely. It is a very common problem on this model.

  • Very informative video! Good job!

  • meow

  • a new mac video ;)
