you need classical mentos because it will just not work with some fruit mentos...and btw. you can do the even cheaper thing like using a water, soda and salt. first you put some soda in water, then you mix those two things, add some salt and enjoy. the fact is that salt releases CO2 a lot faster than mentos...

No take the first layer off of he mentos and you will see a silver layer and you can throw that in there....really fast...and shake it up. =) it will work...

each mento has thousands of tiny pits al ovr the surface.these tiny pits are called nucleation sites-perfect places for carbon dioxie bubbles in the soda to form. as soon as the mento hit the soda,bubbles form al ovr the surface of them and then quikly rise to the surface of the liquid. Couple this wit the fact that the mento are heavy and sink to the botom of the botle and uv got a double-whammy.when the gas is released it literaly pushes al of the liquid up and out of the bottle making a gyser

If you put a mentos or two on to a paperclip and put it into the lid and hold it on with a magnet on the outside you can pull the magnet of and it's a coke grenade. =D

Not necessarily, I did this yesterday and while none of them went quite as high, some still went pretty far and I never loosened the cap once. I actually think that loosening the cap might help a bit with force or something, because I've noticed in videos I've seen that loosened ones go further/higher.
