  • Россия - лучшая страна!!!Ура!!!Ура!!!Ура!!!

  • Greethings from Serbia for mother Russia!

  • This video has very nice footage. I'm a patriotic American, and I respect the patriotism of Russians. I think Alexander Alexandrov's music is very inspiring, and I'm glad Sergey Mikhalkov was able to once again re-write the lyrics for the Russian Anthem. Russia is a great country with much to be proud of, and I hope to visit it someday. I'm glad that relations between Russia and the U.S. are much better than they were during the mid-to-late 20th century, and I hope they continue to improve.

  • Velikaya strana, velikaya nacya i ochen krasivyj gimn. Pozdrav iz Polshi dla nashich slavyanskich bratiey-Russkich.

  • The words are wrong/ WRONG!!! I advice you to try to find original and then translate it yourself!

  • @15svetik What is wrong with the lyrics? Please, provide your own version of translation.

Вообще, странное заявление с Вашей стороны. Что Вам ТАК не понравилось? У Вас есть Ваша версия слов Гимна на английском языке? Пожалуйста, поделитесь.

  • @NavigatorRu It's my own view.

  • Love it

  • lol another vid sais this in the beginning: United forever in friendship and labour,

Our mighty republics will ever endure.

    yours is different!

  • @rboss0 The one you're talking about is the Soviet/USSR anthem. This is the Russian Federation anthem (current).

  • Fatherland? its Motherland!!

  • @jacarandas98100

    Fatherland = Otechestvo

    Motherland = Rodina

The gist is the same, but the words are different.

  • Awesome anthem, rly love it more than any other, however, the vid s fuked up..

  • i like the soviet anthem better

  • why do we fight our brothers why do we fight?

im georgian and have seen what putin made you do!

i dont blame you russia i dont blame any russian except putin!

Your president killed people innocent people!

You should have seen mothers and fathers crying over their children!

    So much needless blood!

I hope we can again be friends and comrades!

rocciani i gruzini ned dolwni bit vragami!

    I liubliu tebia rossia!

    dovai budem tovarishami opiat!

  • This anthem has no souls, totally pointless!...unlike the soviet union anthem that was stunning great and guiding the people's direction! The CCCP will back someday after people sick of those god damn counter revolutionists !

  • The Russian motherland will destroy anyone who stands in its way

  • @99guitarman I am not russian i have got no russian heritage, im australia/german, but i will defend Russia >8D

  • The Soviet Anthem was a lot better indeed, in means of lyrics, but I like this one a lot too.

    This music really IS inspiring.

  • to kilomeister

The translation is bad, but it supposed to be Fatherland (Otechestvo)

  • Actually, the words only sound bad in English, but in Russian they are much better, and make sense to me, as to a Russian, so... don't judge, people. And also, it's not a full version.

But I have to agree that words were much more inspiring in the USSR one...

  • i think that thisis the best anthem after ussr anthem nice anthem!

  • This Russian national anthem lyrics are bad. The ones of the old USSR lyrics were a lot better. They full of pride and glory. This new one means nothing. Only the music left. It is really a shame.

  • sorry to say, but i like the lyrics of the soviet union WAAAAY better. it has much more passion and hearth

  • why is russia a bunch of pusscakes? The collapse of USSR was the worst thing for the US of A.

  • Interesting fact: The French anthem was used as official anthem of Russian Soviet Republic (1917-1918)

  • @MamoshkinArseny wow! i wonder why?

  • @fenix611 Maybe, because government and people wanted smth new. And they had French example. There were the same features in both revolutions. Thats it.

  • Hellas Salutes!!!

  • The Russian anthem has one of the best melodies of all national anthems ... even though the lyrics are a bit bland. The French have the absolute best melody for their anthem, and I especially like the part in their lyrics where they "are going to water their fields with the impure blood" of their enemies. It kind of reminds me of Adolph and his buddies.

  • mother russia . not fatherland! your lyrics are woeful.

  • the great paul robeson song is not the soviet anthem. it is english lyrics that best fit. a very good translteration.

  • Russians were NOT Communists, they were Nationalists. I will disembowel any jackoff who thinks otherwise.

  • totaly fascist...

  • Oh, really? What is so fascist in this anthem and its lyrics?

  • No kidding - while America mentions blatant imperialism and rockets and bombs, where do you find that in the Russian lyrics? Just another brainwashed soul who believes the lies. Thanks for posting this video!

  • It's a shame that you should have an opinion when you know nothing of the definition of Fascism nor do you have a sense of what REAL music is anyway. Pathetic. Do your own research before believing the words of others. You might just find out how much you've been lied to.

  • Last couple hundred years? You've just lost all credibility and your opinions are meaningless. There has been at least two major shifts of political power in just the last one-hundred years, with a new shift of political power clearly on the brink. Germany has no war guilt and shouldn't continue to play the Vampire's stupid games. Look up the Balfour Declaration and then talk to me about war guilt. Please, stop talking because all you're doing is proving how much you DON'T know.

  • theGrandDuchy, You have absolutely no sense in your words. Simply because you have neither expertise in the Russian history nor knowledge on current Russian affairs.

  • @theGrandDuchy THey will have disrespect to the person like u .. U dont even know Russians at first place.. America is just a criminal place with stupid , fat ppl on it Thats what i heard... Should i believe that ? And i would say (most Americans will believe any brainwashing bullsh*t) by just watchin stupidly made Hollywood movies about Russians and stuff.. Its all propaganda mate..I dont say anything about americans - there are bad and good ppl in all countries so dont judge what u dnt know

  • @theGrandDuchy fascism is capitalism in decay, F U and GTFO

  • They Should Not Edit Lyrics!!!! Original FTW!

  • melody is the same, they just edit the lyrics

  • First of all, there never was a "Soviet Nation". Secondly, this is the athem of the modern Russian Federation, AND Soviet Russia. It has not been changed.......

  • The lyrics HAS BEEN changed.

Thanks for posting this video! I'm very proud of my Motherland, of RUSSIA!

  • GOD SAVE THE SOVIETS PLEASE THESE STUPID NIW GERATION IS NOW TARING WHAT WAS ONCE A AWSOME NATION INTO TRASH GOD SAVE THE SOVIET UNION GOD WHAT HAVE THEY DONE!!!! alos the lyrics suck just my opinion i like the old one better i memorised it LOL

  • at least they kept the same kick ass music!!!

  • Whoever wrote the original soviet anthem is a musical genius on par with mozart and beethoven.

  • hey that was short i know it is 3:32 min.

  • Yes, indeed. It is not the full version. But it is limited by the video. Though the full lyrics are in the description for the video -)

  • im from Hungary, it was a Socialist nation by the CCCP (USSR), and i hate every commies but this is a very beautiful anthem. i know that the anthem of the USSR and the "new" Russia is different, but i dont understand what they sayin so i like both of them :) and sorry for my english, im only 14 yrs old :DDDD

  • You can read English lyrics of the modern Russian Anthem in the description for the current video.

  • thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The best anthem i have seen

im brazilian and i know that i say

  • the soviet national anthem was way better

  • Could you be more specific? What was better in the Soviet Anthem? The tune is still the same.

  • Well, first off i dont mean to offend you or to disrespect anyone who likes this anthem. I know the tune is pretty much the same, but what i mean about it was what the anthem is talking about. This anthem is just saying that Russia is great and how great Russia is, while on the old anthem it tell of the struggles and sacrifices that russia had to endure to become great.

Finally i would just like to say that this is my opinion and I dont mean to offend anyone by it so dont try to bitch me out.

  • Gilbert, I didn't mean that you've offended anyone. I was just curious about your opinion. Now I understand what do you mean. By the way, do you know, that lyrics of the Soviet Anthem has been changed after the death of Joseph Stalin?

  • Yea I Know

    Счастливого пути друзья

  • its a bit shamefull how Russia detracted from the west, you could be a rich powerfull country with a much better quality of life, but still i think most of you russians dont want to fight the Rest of Europe and neither do we, you just dont like the Americans

  • Am I saying that we are perfect, no, of course not. Nobody is perfect. But we do hold ourselves to a high standard, and it makes us angry when other people act like nothing we do is ever good enough. America is the most generous nation on earth. That is simply a fact. We give everywhere to everybody in need, and nobody ever says thanks. Many Americans are so frustrated that they would just prefer to not help anybody or give anything.

  • I can see were your coming but if you ask alot of Iraqi's you will find out they were happy under Saddam's rule and Iranian's were not happy with him. When you invade you dragged us (the UK) in with you and te majority of us dont want to be at war with an innocent nation.

  • The idea that Iraq was innocent is revisionist history. Even though it turned out that his WMD programs were truly dead, and that he was just trying to fool his enemies into believing he still had them, it doesn't change the fact that Iraq signed agreements after the first gulf war and then for 12 years failed to live up to those agreements. They fired on US planes enforcing the no fly zone almost on a weekly basis. So long as the new Iraqi gov doesn't collapse, we will be vindicated in the end.

  • I love Russia. I love their music, I love their architecture, and the country itself is beautiful. The Russian people are strong and honorable. Which I think has a lot to do with how communism was able to successfully hold them down for so long. The idea of a perfect society has a lot of attraction to a good hearted noble people like the Russians. But at some point you must realize that communism cannot deliver on it's promises. The result is misery and poverty spread out equally.

  • It's not that Americans are not nice, we are just very opinionated. It comes from having grown up in a society where it is not only tolerated, but encouraged. Some see us as rude, because we are honest.

  • Also, because we are so independent minded, we do not take well to being insulted. Some people wisely blow it off, but Americans take everything very personally. We are generally pretty defensive, because we are convinced that most people in the world don't think much of us, and we don't think that is fair considering how many people we help. Whether the crisis is famine, flood, or even war. It is America that can usually be counted on to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

  • Mmm....The Ruskies always did have good music, despite their screwey politics.

  • Do you think that US policy is way better than the Russian one?

  • Did I say anything about U.S. politics? I understand your defensiveness, what with all the trolls up thread tho.

I won't say better or worse, but when national interests and priorities of Russia vs. USA are clearly at odds, I prefer my own people.

  • That is absolutely natural way of thinking. But could you mention which Russian-US priorities are currently at odds?

  • Stop arguing; your countries are both very big (in size and power) so I think you have the right to have different political views.

With the countries and people themselves, the Russians I have met have tended to be "nicer" than the americans, and I'm english, so I shouldn't be too biased.

  • Slawa Rossii !!! Your Serbian brothers will always be at your side !!!

  • I always loved this song, since hearing it on Rocky IV. I wish your country had freedom, though, and wasn't an impoverished police state so your citizens could do great things like invent internet and youtube. Great national anthem.

  • Democracy isn't something you just have one day after centuries of autocrats. we've never had one before. Well briefly in the early 90s and the country was in disarray. Inflation, economic troubles, no one respected Russia, Yeltsin was laughed at as an old incompetent drunk, the Baltic countries joined NATO, and all the state industry was sold off in sweetheart deals to very few connected people. The current swing back towards centralized power is a response to this weakness that Russians felt.

  • As for Russia it is a safe country to visit ( I can state that without prejudice since I have traveled to many countries), you just have to have common sense and you will be safe.

  • Such ignorance and stupidity makes me hate Americans. You are not welcome in are country and I hope never come here. You honor less sou less educated less pindos.

  • Sorry, the whole world viewed the USSR as an evil empire. That's just the facts. Killing citizens and putting them in prison camps is downright evil.

I'm sorry you aren't as welcoming as us Americans. I have a Russian exchange student in my class and he's a good guy. Sadly, the irony of your post is that you are that one that is ignorant throwing this "hate" talk around and "stay out of my country" nonsense.

In America, we welcome others with open arms. You do it differently, I see.

  • Wow you just talk out of your ass pretty good and state information that has nothing do with my response or even remotely close. I responded to your ignorance stating are nation is manged terribly and that is not safe to travel. But you respond by blindly stating garbage that has nothing do with me.

  • Yeah, and I'm sure you never had a political opinion about George Bush, right?

The only garbage is the crap you are spewing right now.

    Get a clue.

  • Says the person ranting and spurring garbage on video that has nothing do with insulting an entire country. American like you make people hate your nation even though there very sweet and lovely people.

  • Get the tissue out. Russians like you give your country a bad name. You are flatout ignorant.

The USA and Russia have had some harsh incidents in the past. Excuse me for thinking I might be just a tad unsafe given the Cold War and everything else the two have gone through.

    Idiot.

  • Hey, guys. We are in the midst of "resetting". Try not to insult each other. OK? Otherwise I'll ban both of you.

By the way, Hokie, you look like more adequate than many of your respective compatriots. You can read some of our dialogs here if you wish.

  • Thanks. The fellow below just completely mis-interpreted what I meant. I was referring to the Cold War past and that's why I'd feel "uneasy." Just an opinion and he ripped me for it.

    :)

  • Capitalism is the rout and fuel of all evil though and russia seem to try and seek a system that is fair for the majority and not the small majority of rich business owners.

  • lolz u have no clue on corruption in post communist territories.

  • russia is the best

  • Long life Serbia and Russia!

  • Stupid fuck , like all americans

  • your just pissed cause were free and you live in a communist state

  • Are you fuckin serious ? Russia hasn't been communist since 1992 )))

My god why all yanks have to be soooo fuckin retarded )))

  • they may think that their not but onlu puten or whatever the dictator is now can make anything happen and i admit they are better but look at last summer they invaded georgia for no reason!

  • NO REASON?

Using massive fire systems against civilians is not a reason?

Killing of the Russian citizens is not a reason?

Killing of the Russian peacekeepers is not a reason?

You are too far from Georgia to make a conclusion on what has happened there.

But definitely America didn't kick Russian ass in Georgia. I'd say quite the contrary - Russians kicked asses of the American military instructors in Georgia.

  • they never killed russian citizens! and we werent even fighting you in georgia so no you didnt kick our asses

  • they DID kill Russian citizens you moron !!!

  • yeah the ones that invaded them!!

  • NO you moron... Most of people in South Ossetia (if you know what that is ) ARE Russian citizens...

Plus they attacked the base of Russian peace keepers

  • ha funny all the news stations said that they were part of georgia and wanted to be russian but they werent, so im gonna believe the news analist over you and yeah russia did a real good job keeping peace with its tanks

  • Well there' s no war there now. What can't be said about Iraq and afghan.

I feel really sorry for you, poor guy you know nothing about what's going on in this world.

  • wow your still stupid you commy

  • "Commy " LMAO )))

I don't see any point in talking to a retard like you, stop messaging me ...

  • gladly you stupid queer

  • Get fucked already you fag

  • Sun, They DID killed Russian citizens hours before Russian Tanks crossed the border with South Ossetia.

And the Georgian forces were using MASSIVE FIRE SYSTEMS against sleepin civilians (operation started at 11:30pm).

Now guess, who were preparing Georgians for the operation? Dude, that was YOUR guys. Hundreds of American military instructors.

But the Russians kicked their asses. And few days ago we kicked your asses in Kirgyzstan.

  • wtf we havent fought you and no we didnt have any instructors over there and even if we did the only reason you would have one is russia has supperior size and armaments to georgia and no we havent fought you in Kirgyzstan

  • Oh, is that right? You "didnt have any instructors over there"? Are you sure?

I think you are trying to play the fool with us.

Please, spend some time and type in the any Internet search engine "American Military instructors Krtsanisi"

    Good luck.

  • i googled it and that battle happened 25 years ago and russia was never in it

  • What battle? Krtsanisi is the military base on the Georgian territory where AMERICAN military instructors were deployed in 2002.

You WERE in Georgia by the time of 08.08.08 events. And you were assisting Georgians with their aggression in Ossetia. And we kicked your asses there. Georgian and American.

The message is clear - get out of our borders!

  • we have NEVER fought you and if we did we would rape you up the butt and Krtsanisi happened 25 years ago according to google and russia and the US were never involved

the message is clear: your and idiot

  • Did I ever insulted you? Why do you call me an idiot? You have no more arguments? It is too bad to be such an uneducated person as you.

    Try Wiki.

25 years ago Krtsanisi was a part of the Soviet Georgia. There were no battles in the USSR that time. Battle of Krtsanisi took place in 1795! So it was 214 years ago. So, who is an idiot?

  • thats not what the internet says so its obvious that you lying and im sorry that you must live in a athiest nation and yeah you insult me

  • Do you know URL of Wikipedia?

Please, type there "Battle of Krtsanisi" and tell me, when it took place according to Wiki. And than tell me who is a lier indeed.

So far you are just using some offensive language, calling me an idiot and lier. But you have no arguments at all. Give me the link which tells that Battle of Krtsanisi were 25 years ago.

  • just google it and thats not offensive language

  • It says 1795. That is why I'm asking you to provide me with the link to your info about '25 years ago'.

By the way the top link in google leads to Wiki.

Did you check it? What did it say to you? Or you can't read in English?

  • You never fought us directly.

But we kicked your asses in Georgia since you were preparing Georgian forces as well as their brutal overnight aggression on Tskhinval.

And we never fought you in Kyrgyzstan. But still you were kicked out from Manas airbase earlier this week. Build your bases in Canada or Mexico - far from our borders.

  • the only reason you could beat georgia is that its like a 18 year old vs a 5 year old if the armies were the same size you would have been reped

  • At least we used our army against Georgian army, while Georgians used their army against SLEEPING civilian Ossetians including seniors, women and kids. And their army was prepared by the US instructors. Shame on you. You are teaching how to use force against civilians.

  • we never trained georgians we did have a base there though but we didnt train them

  • BBC: On Saturday the US ambassador to Georgia said they had decided to continue training the Georgian army in a full-time programme US 'security guarantee'

Type "American military instructors in Georgia in google and check very first link

  • I am british and every one here knows US trained Georgian troops and israeli troops and both armies are good at killing civilians which is a real shame.

  • @shuggy1991

SAS does a better job of it.

  • So, please, don't try to play tricky games close to our borders any more. Focus on your own country and your own neighbours.

  • "but look at last summer they invaded georgia for no reason"

Fucking Hell ....go kill yourself you stupid fuckin sheep ....

  • did you seriously just call me a sheep

  • Man at least you can be shy of your stupidity and stop demonstrating it here ))))

  • wow your stupid

  • Hey, soccer man. You know what the difference between you and z971? Or between you and me? We (Z and me) can read both - Russian and English. And you can't. So, the only option you have is to be stuck to your "free" and "independent" media. While we can read both and make a choice between truth and lie. So, that is the difference. You have no choice but to be surrounded by falsehood. I'm very sorry for you.

  • stay with the motherland and stay to your routes or u will start to become like the native americans

  • Beautiful!

  • long live Vladimir Vladimieric Putin

  • Your comment is just a reflection of how little you there in the US know about Russia. All you know is that Putin served in KGB. But what is wrong with that? Do you want me to remind you of the US President who was CIA to the bone?

  • Funny you should say I know nothing of Russia...I'm studying its current plight right now through AMU.

Putin has surrounded himself (Russia's key leadership) with former KGB cronies. There is no moral relativism here between CIA and KGB....the CIA has oversight. Today your FSB is controlled only by your president and who has the only oversight. And now your FSB under Putin/Medvedev is assasinating dissidents, harassing foreign workers and its practically defenseless neighbors.

  • So the rest of the world watches with fright and disappointment as Russia makes stride after stride away from democracy and toward what you self-destructive Russians do best: authoritarianism. Only this time there will be no sickle and hammer. Just the psuedo-fascist hand of former KGB men gradually erroding your civil liberties and watching your every move. Once their power is secure they'll move against another neighbor. Ukraine maybe? Moldova? Finish off Georgia? Who will be the next victim?

  • Do you realize that every ISP in your country is monitored by the FSB? They're looking for dissidents and any one else they can accuse of being a spy. How sad is that? Its as if Russia today is what Germany was in the late 1930s. I pray that your voting population wakes up. Already more than 50% of your youth say that Stalin was a great leader worthy of praise and admiration. This, despite his title as biggest murder of the 20th century. Please don't let Russia be taken captive once again.

  • Do you realize that after 9/11 every ISP in your country is monitored by Homeland Security? They're looking for dissidents and any one else they can accuse of being a terrorist. How sad is that?

  • Internet traffic is passively monitored looking for signs of terror cells and terrorist activity. Your FSB assumed the duties of the former FAPSI (you NSA), which electronically monitors and reports on elections. Thats an open door for fraud if ever I heard it.

Now the lines between intelligence and government have blurred in your country. Right now your FSB is more insidious than the KGB who at least had to uphold commie ideology, where as the FSB is at one man's whim.

  • "Electronically monitors and reports on elections" ... I bet you have no single idea on how election process works in Russia. There is nothing to monitor electronically since there are no electronic votes. As well as the results are being counted manually. Your sources are misleading you.

  • You do realize that paper votes are taken to an elector who then inputs them electronically and transmits the results to an office in Moscow. The FSB/FAPSI has the ability to meddle if it wishes. There is a reason that the rest of the world (UN observers) saw your last general election as being unfair and fixed.

  • Do you realize that before transmitting votes electronically to Moscow elector provides all the figures to the observers from all the political parties who monitor the process at the electoral commission?

There were no UN observers at the Russian elections. And by the way, how many international observers monitored US general election?

  • No UN observers? Are you sure? Everyone and their mother claims that your last presidential election was biased toward Putin. Even the Russ Commie party said it was unfair and that says a lot. Talk about a violation of international standards.

The US has outsiders look into the election process all the time. Its a common thing in the free world.

My friend, the truth may be hard to swallow, but most medicines are. Russia has taken frightening steps away from freedom and toward despotism.

  • The US has outsiders look into the general election only since 2004. As for Russia, we invited OSCE observers to monitor last parliamentary and pres elections. They didn't come.

The truth is that you know little about Russia.

  • From 1991 to 2007 USA bombed Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan, Yugoslavia, Somalia - all of them are independent countries. Its as if the US were worse than Germany in 1939. Who will be the next victim? Iran maybe? DPRK? Finish off Sudan?

  • Gulf War, even Gorbachev supported us. Afghanistan, fighting Al-Qaeda and the Taliban (our mutual enemy), Sudan was peacekeeping to protect people against genocide. Somalia was the same deal.

Iran and the DPRK threaten their neighbors with annihilation on a daily basis. What did Georgia do? Get to uppity to mother Russia?

  • I'm not talking about Gulf War. I'm talking about 2003 invasion. Should I remind you on the reason you used to justify it while the whole world including majority of NATO countries was against the action? Are you ready to present Iraqi WMD?

  • No, but your SVR/FSB agreed with the Chinese and French and British intelligence agencies that Saddam had sizeable WMD stockpiles. Guess we were ALL wrong. Eh?

  • Show me SVR/FSB paper where they say so. Show me Iraqi WMD! Where are SIZEABLE stockpiles? They all gone? It was complete lie from the very beginning to the very end. You were fighting there for the resources! Not for the democracy, not for the Iraqi people, not to save the world from WMD, but to provide your own economy with chip energy resources.

  • Yes, only R&D evidence of WMD has been found so far, but old Saddam had plenty of time to hide them. Besides, would it make any sense for George W. to enter into conflict on the matter of WMD if he knew we'd find not a trace? Gas prices hit all time heights during W's administration.

Do some research yourself. All the major nation's agreed. Russia China and France opposed UN action because Saddam was such a good customer to them.

  • Plenty of time to hide SEIZABLE STOCKPILES? Are you kidding? Or you think it's just like a small coin and you can just drop it out so no one would be able to find it?

Your Congress already did some research. Read "FINAL PHASE II REPORTS ON PREWAR IRAQ INTELLIGENCE".

  • You formally hanged up Saddam for killing 148 Shiites. Since the American occupation of Iraq from 946 000 to 1 120 000 civilian Iraqis were killed!!! (You can find the figures on the website of Opinion Research Business). Who is to hang? Someone from your administration i guess. Pick him yourselves. You have the fairest electoral system in the world!

  • Did Bush have those civilians deliberately lined up and executed or was it a combination of bloodthirsty insurgeants, civilians killing civilians, and collateral damage that occurs in every war.

Nice attempt to make a case of moral relativism out of it, but no cigar comrade.

  • It doesn't matter. Your operation cause much more causalities in Iraq than Saddam's rule. I don't care about moral relativism. I see the victims. I see the figures. And you are responsible for those figures. Morally or by direct involving - I don't care. A lot of "democracy blah blah" .

  • So you admit your contempt for democracy? I don't think its necessary to remind you the type of utter brutality the Soviets did to the Afghan people, but I know you're a Russian, not a Soviet. No matter how you slice it the US is not the one responsible for the senseless killing that different radical islamic groups do to eachother and cowardly attack civilians.

And lets not forget that we removed Saddam from power, a man who killed 1.5 million of his own people.

  • I suppose the Iraqi Gov't could have hung Saddam over the ~1.5 million Iraqis he had snuffed during his reign of terror. But 148 was more than enough to finish a former dictator, as it should be.

Friend, I understand yoru pride in one's home country. Everyone should have it. Many in the US view Russia as a nation liberated from totalitarianism yet inexplicably running back to it. Why not celebrate your freedom rather than enter back into false security of tyranny?

  • "Iran and the DPRK threaten their neighbors with annihilation on a daily basis. What did Georgia do?"

I'll tell you what Georgia did.

While Iran and DPRK just threaten to their neighbors, Georgia by the time when the Russian armored vehicles crossed its border with Russia HAVE killed HUNDREDS of innocent civilian people of South Ossetia and dozen of Russian PEACEKEEPERS. Should I remind you of the time line of 08/08 events?

  • Go ahead. It seems to me you've been fed untruthful information. Thats not surprising considering the Russian media is carefully watched by the FSB. Haven't you heard of the jailings of reporters who cross the Russia United Party?

  • It seems to you wrongly. I'm closer to the border with Georgia than you are and you biased "free" media. Do you remember Fox News with the Ossetian girl? That is all about your media. Check Wiki for the time line of the events. Or do you think FSB so powerful to change all the articles there?

  • Well opening strike against Georgia was by Russian CyberCossack hackers that shut down its government.

It was sobering to see mighty Russia attack a country like Georgia without so much as a squeek to the international community before heading off to war. Everyone agreed it was an act of belligerance not seen since Kabul in '79.

  • I highly doubt Russia was the injured party considering the world reaction to the invasion of Georgia. I'm just glad the leadership of all the other former Soviet republics and warsaw pact stood by Georgia. It convinced Poland to host the ABM system and your gov't threatened to "go beyond diplomacy" if Warsaw went through with it. That hardly seems the act of a well-intentioned Kremlin.

  • The CIA is oversight ... Hmm ... Check the archives for 1973 Church Committee Hearings.

  • That was then. There has been legislative oversight of the intelligence community since 1975. Today, between any US intel agency there are 10 (count 10) oversight entitiies between that agency and the president and congress.

  • Have you ever been to Russia?

  • No, however I live in the city which has the highest population of Russian and Eastern European immigrants in the US. They are wonderful people! Very courteous. Americans could learn a lot from them. However they are afraid for what Putin and company are doing. Totalitarianism is on the rise in Russia yet again, and now the FSB is in control of the Russian conventional military (blocking any armed resistance to Putin or his circle of fmr-KGB bonecrushers).

  • You are using such a stamps as "Putin and Co", "KGB bonecrushers" etc. Could you name those persons you mean? I'm not sure you are familiar with the Russian political structure but still use those artificial phrases.

  • Putin has surrounded himself with fmr KGB/FSB. In fact according to my research 78% of Russia's top 1000 politicans are just that. How clear is it that Mevdevev is a puppet of Putin?

  • You gave me just one name. Medvedev. Does he belong to "KGB bonecrushers"?

According to your research, 780 out of1000 Russian top politicians have KGB background? Name them!
