  • Not sure if anyones covered this with you all ready, yet im sure someone has. The black characters name was Mcginty. ..He is a Irish man. That is also exactly how the character looks in the books aswell. Whats a irish person suppose to look like? A leprechaun? lol

  • its not an RPG!

  • The "Jamaican" WAS Irish. The "Russian" was ROMANIAN. Shoulda paid more attention. The film was CAMPY. The accents were SUPPOSED to be ridiculous. That's what made it FUNNY. The RPG was "supposed to do" what??? Are you serious? It's a COMIC BOOK MOVIE, ferpetessakes. Did you like it's comic book movieness, yes or no? ...the "accents"... Ferpetessakes. Oh, and Tom Jane doesn't hold a CANDLE to Ray Stevenson.
  • I give this movie an A-!! It was such a great action film!!

The Jamacian with the Irish accent was placed there purposely.

  • yeah that chandaller part kind of seemed stolen from Boondock Saints

  • also... i think there is more to acting than accents. btw i did enjoy ur review!

  • the "jamaican" guy is maginty... a very clever south bronx/irish character from the kitchen irish story. its a great nod to the fans that hes there at all!

  • yep even the bar where jigsaw was recruiting bad guys was called kitchen irish

  • This movie is a must see for punisher fans if you love the comic go see it if you love gore go see it. If you like to see the punisher being portrayed as a boyscout with a gun you may want ot avoid this one and pick up the 2004 version. If your like me and you love over the top blood, guts, death, dismemberment and action then this is the film for you. Nuff said true believers.

  • nice stan lee reference

  • Thanks

  • the comic called war journal not war zone

  • in mid 90's both War Zone and War Journal were made

  • so do they show how his family dies again like the first film or do they skip all that and they just mention how his family dies?

  • they show it again as it happened according to the comic book, not from the tom jane movie. it's just a set of brief flashbacks, but you can see him playing with his kids then holding there bloody corpses. Oddly enough, though, i don't his wife was ever shown.... or i may have missed it.

  • i thought stallone would be better at both directing and acting

  • nah. then you'd have a two hour movie of him going "mutter mumble muttermuttermutter. ADRIENNE!" :P

  • the Irish accent Jamaican guy had that Irish accent because he grew up in an Irish neighborhood (from what I remember from the comics)

  • then that makes sense. but it would have been nice for the writers to at least say something about that for those of us that never read the comics.

  • good review

  • nice reveiw. i really liked thomas jane too, it was actually my favorite movie, next to the mist also starring thomas jane. i think hes a great actor. but i havent seen the new punisher movie yet, i think i may go today. but even if i see it i still have a feeling ill like the thomas jane punisher better.

  • I think it was a great review, u need to read the comic's they are amazing. The Punisher from Punisher Max does looks like Steven Segal

  • very good man. liked the review

  • not to be a dick but your combo of somehow liking the 04 version, along with the "DAMN!" two hours later-is all i need from your vid to tell me how great this new one must be!

  • not to be a dick back, but if all you needed was to hear "DAMN!", than why''d you bother watching the rest?

  • who said i watched the rest?!

  • then what the point of your first post? i'm confused now.

  • to inform you of all that was required for me to be convinced as to the quality of this movie! Within 1:10 you point out your liking of the 04 version and say the word DAMN! Seems comprehensible.

  • ah! then I misunderstood what you orignially said. I thought you were trying to say that I long winded with a 10 min review. my bad.

  • I liked the Tom Jane Punisher too. I can't understand why everyone hated it.

  • wow. i think you're only a couple of people i know outside of my family that admits the Tom Jane version was good.

thanks for making me feel not so alone. :)

  • i decided to watch this movie myself today. i watched this with little to no expectations, and enjoyed it. i totally digged the music as well. it came across as an urban rambo in a way. i think this movie is more for the comic book fan than the casual movie goer though. yeah, he does look like segal but without the beer gut.

  • i agree. this film was more for the comic bookies than the rest of us.
