I'm so glad Eddie stopped doing the crazy eyes shtick, or whatever you want to call it. It just seems corny, even back then I thought so. I don't remember seeing him doing it any time in recent memory, I think it was just back in the Ten/Vs era he would do that. I prefer everything from Vitalogy through to Backspacer over the first two albums though. Not that I dislike the first two albums, I just prefer the rest of their catalog.

Excellent! They don't release this musical energy when they perform this song anymore. I know that Eddie's voice has changed, but it seems that they don't even try to perform it with an acceptable intensity. We all know bands older than pearl jam that when they play the hits that placed them in the hearts of people they perform them in a way that reminds you "why it is a timeless classic".Can you imagine Rush or Metallica playing their classics with the intensity PJ plays even flow these days ?

@bassnebula93 PJ songs like this cannot be played forever. It is in the nature of PJ early songs (3 first albums) that you had to put ALL your soul in order to sing them properly.

This is not possible to be repeated endlessly. For many reasons.

Other bands perform their hits good technically and that's enough, but they don't need that special "all soul" energy to be acceptable. PJ songs need that

But I still think that this song is played these days with what PJ thinks is intense, I mean, Cameron's drumming is fast and hard,Mike's solo is long and not that interesting, Jeff and Stone are playing fast as well, so, they are intensed in a way, but this new way or version doesn't make you feel the reality of the song. And about Eddie's voice, just let remeber when he sings the who covers:amazing! Ofcourse they can play this song with more feeling!
