That was fukn badass dude. Hit me up again wen u post another. Ima post one of me soon but jus jamn out not bleed lol id like to know what u think as well
good luck on trying to get it up to speed. can't wait to see how you get over the 120bpm hump. (just a guess as to when i think this technique might begin to fall apart). love to see people pushing forward
My God, Andy......just visited your website.....you've played with Bozzio? I'm sure this is the sort of challenge he'd be up for...probably while playing a double paradiddle with his left foot and a single paradiddle on the floor tom while soloing over the lot it 7/16 !
This is some crazy idea. I think you're going to cramp up something rotten with one foot. It's hard enough for most to keep going the full song with two. Re pronunciation - I thought it was pronounced Hawk (with maybe a very short 'i' sound on the end) - That's how fellow Swede Mattias Eklund from Toontrack pronounced it anyway!! He's certainly no hack anyway ! I see you've got an endorsement from Troy Wright in the comments. Praise indeed. Everyone should check out his Messhugah instrumedlies
@drsteve0487 Who knows if it can actually be done or not, but I'm going to pace myself and take it bit by bit. Each installment, I'll post how many hours I got to spend on it as well. Eventually, I'll be posting ideas that I come up with due to having taken this challenge on. :)
@TheDRUMaticGuy I actually just started using the heel toe method a few months ago and I only use if for triples, so I'm still working on it as well. Just keep working at it and you'll get it. The only time someone fails is when they quit!
what up....not a matel fan at all either but im with you for the challenge... not into double bass but i believe dennis chambers also has a sort of a mollar technique for the foot that can get great bpm's ive also been trying to master aswell. I like your ideas and im going to try and get some vids up on here aswell ..hopefully i can get some of those cool hammerax cymbals that i found out about from you ....cheers mate
Theoretically, by playing it one footed (haha) you could open and close hi-hat (or ideally a stack made of small chinas) together with the bendings that guitars are playing. That would be cool. ;)
Good luck bro. The hardest part for me when playing this was the endurance of the opening pattern which at tempo - 115bpm lasts for about 50 seconds. The second phrase might be a little easier as the 32nd note additions occur slighter further apart. Let me know if you want the drum chart man and ill email it to you personally. Keep it up man. Troy
@wrightdrums Thanks so much man. The challenge is only for the first part so I don't need a chart but I really appreciate the offer and thanks for the support!
@deathfacedrummerL I bought it off of a friend of mine so I'm not really sure of how much they go for in stores. As for the play of the pedal, I absolutely love it.
once you finish with your right foot you should start over completely using your left foot. may take months, even a year but think about how much stronger your feet will be after.
i love your possitvity... DAMMIT!!!!!
