The mouse seems to be thriving well, and doesn't seem to suffer from its "back ear". Fact is, animals used for experiments and stuff like this, are not allowed to suffer (at least not in my country) and it is regulatory to put down any animal that suffers unnecessary. Test animals can revolutionize medicine history, but all you care about is an individual mouse, that is made for these kind of things.

This is such a hard subject to debate. I am totally against animal testing. i think it is insanely cruel to do so but, in doing so we are able to save the lives of many other humans. This video was made several years ago and they state that this could develop and doctors would be able to create functioning organs. It's now 2011 and we can do this. Many lives have been helped.

If it should work on humans, it would be necessary to actually breed special type of humans for experiments.. And I don't think Amnesty would like that. Growing it on special mice is far easier and more efficient.
