  • 0:40 is a herkules controller.... WTF

  • @KalleBlomquist93 listen to the description of the video.

  • @pilotdapunk

    sawrie

  • Pretty sure you just remap the MIDI CONTROLLER to any software... its MIDI

  • Title of song??pleaseeee

  • @superdebbyred The Migrants - I thought that... (Boris Dlugosch mix)

  • Is there any way to rewire the output of the Djay software in to Logic for recording the scratches? I would love to get this to do some scratching in my recording sessions, but I'm not sure how it would work out.

  • Vesta vci-300

  • should i buy this or the vci 100. i am a beginner but it seems vci 100 has more features

  • @LutzakVideos Spin has so many short glass ceilings. Get the Vestax Typhoon for around $300. Typhoon is bundled with Traktor LE which is so much more in terms of software. Vci-100 is still cool and much better than spin. Here's what I recommend in order.

    Native Instruments S4 - $1000

    Denon MC6000 - $800

    Numark NS7 ~ $1100

    Vestax VCI-300 $800

    Vestax VCI-100 $500

    Vestax Typhoon $300

  • could i use other dj software besides Dee-jay on my mac with this Vestax Spin?traktor or virtual?

  • @koolrican the spin was actually made in conjunction with Dee-jay. Other softwares such as traktor, serato, or virtual dj will not work. It is not mapped for this hardware. HOWEVER, Im sure there are computer geeks out there who have already hacked it. But then again, this is more of a beginner's bedroom dj hardware. I personally wouldnt use professional software such as traktor or serato with hardware. Maybe virtual dj since its catered to beginning djs too.

  • can i connect 2 cdj to this controller?

  • Yes, and this can't work with Serato so its only good for bedroom djs

  • VCI 300 > Vestax Spin

  • @DJTaqtix

    VCI 300 = $800+

    Spin = $250

They're both Vestax pieces, and not comparable products. One is a high end MIDI controller for serious DJ's. The other is an entry level piece (also uses MIDI protocol).

  • ok Bluethunder....you should not be paying $400 on a piecr of equipment to drive ur entire gig...go get the ns7 or something because this is not professional at all. Its not an alternative to hauling Pioneers or Technics...This is the alternative to the alternative. If i was doing my sister's party i would dj with these...if ur not pro use em but comeon guys...its meant 2 work with Djay

  • believe it or not, 123blue93, a vci-300 or 100 can do everything a cdj or turntable dj can do and more.

  • @123blue93 you're right, like i said to those guys down below, thats basically what i was referring to. I'm looking at the Allen&Heath Xone: DX as my next ITCH controller

  • needs knobs for the EQs... period.

  • I have the VCI 300, am a professional dj in Atlantic City NJ, and do mobile gigs in the tri state area, I use it with an external mixer to boost the volume through my speakers, because I do 600 person plus gigs alot, in large ballrooms, will this work with ITCH? or SCRATCH LIVE? are they bundled? dee-jay is an amateur piece of crap in my opinion because I've fooled with it, I need to know if it works with good software...

  • @bluethunder121 - Why you would like to use the Spin vs the vci 300 for your djing? I know the spin is lighter than the vci, but it lacks a lot of the functions the vci 300 has. Do u like the layout of the spin more?

I think the spin tries to cater to beginning DJs and is correlated to Dee-jay on purpose, just like VCI 300 is to itch, and VCI 100 is to Trakor Le. But in the end it is still a midi-controller. Someone IT genius will map the functions into itch or traktor sooner or later lol.

  • true, I looked into it more and you're right this is for beginning DJs and not professionals, They should come out with a new VCI for pros along with this one, especially a serato based controller, and keep the non moving platters because I really like that invention. Though I never said I wanted the spin like you're saying I think, although it sounds translated because the words are backwards in some sentences lol, I was just looking for new Vestax equipment and saw your vid.

  • both the vci-300 and spin lack good effects triggers, but I agree, you definitely don't want to downgrade to the spin. not only will mapping the spin's midi to itch be a pain, but the 300 lets you do so much more with your music. Stick with what you have.

  • @pilotdapunk I've found you're right haha and i basically knew this all along, Now that time has passed, I'm looking at the Xone: DX as an upgrade. Now THATS a good piece of vestax hardware. Check it out!

  • Pro DJ's would also benefit from using this product as well. I think it's an excellent alternative to hauling around the Pioneer decks and Technic 1200's turntables, especially to smaller gigs. Keep in mind, one can own the equipment, but the ability to rock a crowd is a vital craft that beginners would need to work on. Believe me, I know, I've been spinning records since 1986. I give this product two thumbs up;-)

  • I'm selling my Prodigy FX and getting the awesome piece of art!!!!

  • i cant wait to get my spin and mac

  • will this work on PC ? i'd rather use other programs besides Djay

  • nope it will only work with macbooks. Vestax partnered with apple to market this product.

  • Or iMac's or Mac Pro's offcourse.

  • @pilotdapunk works with all macs

  • doesnt matter if u have this tool or a good tool its how u mix and the music selection that makes u a good dj.... as for dj hero its a video game nothing more....

  • exactly... The crowd just wants to hear good transitions and good music... Do what you gotta do and use what you gotta use to get paid... This machine is off the hook...

  • Sounds like a grade school essay presentation.

  • Good cause I was worried you wouldn't be able to comprehend. This video was meant to be informant. Go get yourself a "Spin" and your beans might just get a little cooler.

  • I've got better hardware setups already, no need to downgrade.

  • wot do u've got then?

  • ohh shit sup dog im jealous man! i love my VCI 300 how the hell have you been friend???

  • I don't like the toy sets. Its bullshit. DJ controllers are real tools just like turn tables but this toy shit pisses me off. Burn Dj Hero and all its look alikes.

  • There are goods and bads to this new product. Good for Vestax and beginning Djs- since they have an affordable product that allows them to feel like a real DJ. BAD for existing DJs because it makes others think anyone can DJ, consequently leading to less job/gig opportunities as well as fucking up our rep. Dont get me wrong, Im all for newcomers to the DJ world, But there is a fine line between Professionalism and a 12 year old with a laptop and midi controller. Vestax is a sell out.

  • well I'd have to agree w/ you that this DJ hero BS must die.

however personally I think a product like this doesn't hurt the pros. because guess what, most of the pros already have full rigs w/ 2-3 some even 4 decks.

    just my 2 cents.

  • i like i like :)

  • Me too....
