  • Apparently The Who said they were getting their own back for Pinball Wizard!,from memory i think this was for a charity thing.Anyway they nail it in my opinion.Hats off to Mr John and Mr Taupin though, it is a fucking killer tune.

    Check out Thunders version of Gimme Shelter for another awesome cover

  • The Who ROCKED this cover. It sure makes "NIckel Bag's" rendition sound like shit doesn't it?

  • This make it seem as if Elton's version is fast tempo cover, love both versions but The Who's got something magical about it

  • the begin of the son sound like baba o riley or won't get fooled again :p THE WHOOO

  • @DragonicaYoutub

    The Who used synthesizers a lot more often than Elton John.

  • I fucking love the added Who-ish intro it fits so damn well!

  • This song is just much more The Who than it is Elton John.

  • idk. I like all 3 versions. It's a good song period, I don't think it can be ruined. It's that well written.

  • the who is the only band that can cover this song.

  • @moggy1231 alice cooper could too

  • great cover needless :D <3

  • is it just me or does it sound like roger said switchback instead of switchblade

  • See THIS is how you cover an Elton John song.... learn something from this, fucking Nickleback.

  • cette version est purement géniale, interprétation magistrale du meilleur talent des Who, fantastique groupe!magiciens du rock and roll! Rip Keith and John.

  • i like the addition of take me to the pilot

  • Rock&Roll

  • THIS IS BEtTER THAN THE ORIGInal,,,,,the who rool o.k. xxxx

  • It's just not possible for The Who to be loud enough! I swear that bolts of lightning flow through Townsend's guitar. WOW!...louder louder louder!!!

  • wow. that's an old VH1 Classic logo.

  • The Who ROCK, but these lyrics need elton's voice.

  • Actually of the remakes of this song, Nickelback (w/ Kid Rock) is by far the best

    Sure did become popular when elton did it back when. We just hafta remember, this is the way it was meant to be played .

  • Thanks for posting this, I never knew they did a cover. Not as addictive as Elton's arrangement (less energy) but I still give it 10/10

    SNAFF is a true classic rock song

  • Ya know what's wierd? I kinda prefer this version over Elton's. BUT I prefer Elton's version of Pinball Wizard over the Who's. woulda thunk??

  • They made it their own! Elton's version Rocks..but The Who made this tune much harder & heavier! - I can picture THE WHO getting rowdy & fighting in a bar, but it's hard to imagne Elton getting into too many drunken bar brawls! lmfao!! =o)

  • @ThunderBass68 it's because Bernie Taupin wrote the lyrics about growing up in northern England where the weekend drill was to drink and fight.

  • the drums let this version down. elton's has more grunt.

  • love love love LOVE the "take me to the pilot" chorus starting at around 3 mins.

  • i'm personally offended if i meet someone who doesn't like the who

  • i am a big fan of elton but i prefer this version although elton's version is verry good 2

  • i am a big fan of elton but i prefer this version although elton's version is verry good 2

  • 2 people obviously aren't alright for fighting

  • Comment removed

  • @funkyjo2 i hate to break it to ya but this version was recorded

    somewhere in 1989 and had Jon Astley on the drum computer.

    Nice computer rolls, but no Keith Moon.

  • @hanshendriksen72 Im not suprised, its to much of an actual beat to be moon, he would be doing fills and shit all over the place

  • @hanshendriksen72 so the drums are loops?

  • Never heard this version . . . lots of fun!

  • This version beats Elton's ne day gotta love the who

  • LOVE the Who and this song!!! They totally rocked it and they're the best band ever!! (In my opinion, anyway)

  • @SuperBlargle IN response to Elton's cover of PINBALL WIZARD?

  • the who in my opinion is better! not this video in particular but the actual song itself! got 2 luv good music!!! keep calm and rock on!!! go the who!!!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~YAMMY~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • @invaderzimgirl14 I love the showmanship in this video. This is a true Rock 'n' Roll Video.
  • @countryfirst32 yea!
  • Not bad but Elton's version is better. And I'm saying that not because I'm Elton John fan :)
  • Its a shame more people don't know about this version of this song.
  • good! It was a very long time since I heard this awesome version!
  • I'm I the only one who hears a bit of Hey Jude towards the very end? :P
  • @DavidLoike the na na na's are from take me to the pilot
  • @TheJohnny990
    "If you feel that I'm real, I'm on trial/And I'm here in your prison//Like a coin your mint/I am dented and I'm spent with high treason//Like a glass eye, your throne/Is the one danger zone/Take me to the pilot for control/Take me to the pilot of your soul ..."
  • i know Elton John did this originally, but the Who make this their own. they sure as fuck knock Nickleback out the park
  • @Fgh2rvb Absolutely. This song and band is Rock and Roll at its finest, back when there was such a thing as Rock and Roll.
    I love The Who so much.
  • i copletely agree,,da superbowl halftime show will be completely great,,,,,perfect to compliment da saints
  • The Who were amazing
    Baba O'Reily changed my life...
  • They are the the exact definition of true Rock 'n' Roll. Their style and especially their showmanship are the embodiment of Rock 'n' Roll in its purest form.
    Go The Who.
    By the way this year may be the best Superbowl halftime show ever.
  • Somehow I find it easier to believe that Daltrey would know more about being all right for fighting than Elton.
  • Truth.
  • @sammydwm Yup!
  • @sammydwm absolutely! fabulous Elton John song, and its great sung by him.... but it's as though he wrote it for Daltrey! Love this version more :D
  • all very talented musicians
  • The Who is my favorite band. They just kick such serious butt!
    NO singer has the sound of Daltrey!
    Entwistle is a monster.
    Pete Townsend IS ROCK!
  • i love Elton's version, but there is something about the Who's style that just gets me. That is why they are one of my favorite groups. besides, without them, Led Zeppelin may have never been formed...
  • totally true!
    I agree
  • @countryfirst32 but elton john didnt do a version XD, he is the original performed of this song
  • Love the bass at 2:55. Entwistle steam-rollers it.
  • Entwistle is badass, man ;D
  • @OxAeroBabixO You aint kidding
  • Fun twist on an Elton John song... especially since Elton had such a HUGE hit with Pinball Wizard.
  • definetly better than the elton john version , the who are awesome!!!!!!!
