i remember playing the game back in 2006 when i was 11 years old. what frigging great memories? the concept design for Hydrus was completely different before the games release. he had a Basilosaurus-like body, and he was longer. this design looks cool, but far from the amazingness of the first one

I fought this colossus yeserday and something hilarious happened

Hydrus went through some weird graphical glitch and half of it body was all cruched up, it looked so weird, I couldn't climb on him because his head was doing that glitchy thing where it sorta flickers, I was like "Isn't this game supposedly glitch free?..."

If i remember this right you could get a harpoon by doing time attack mode and you could hit Hydrus without going in the water. There was some good stuff to get on time attack. I recall a mask that put your grip gauge up, the Queen's sword from 'Ico' and also a cape you could use as a parachute! Once you were fully kitted up and maxed out by eating all the fruit & white lizard tails, you could take down some of the colossi with just one or two hits!

This was one of my favorite collossus battles. They were all really good but I Iiked this one, the big flying centipede thing and either the big bird or that minatour one.

This one was really tricky to find! At least it took me tons of tries running back and forth around it's location until I finally got it right.

Whenever water battles in games are mentioned, I just lose ALL of my motivation, but in the end this boss wasn't difficult at all and just as fun to figure out as the other xD The electricity was a bitch though, I just clung to his tail in FOREVER until my life went back up to full when I finally managed to grab it.

the landscaping in this game were stunningly beautiful. i loved every inch of it!

what i do when i cant grab onto him is go the oppisite direction he is going and then go to his head. then i just swim forward. he goes so fast that you end up on his tail anyway. and also remember to adjust the camera so you can tell if you are actually over him

By eating the fruits on the trees that you can find around the land

Its not a palace lol. But if your talking about the Temple, I recall there is one on the left side where you ride towards the First Colossus. But you basically have to search the land for trees where you can find some fruits on them.Good luck.

That would be impossible mainly because in this game, you HAVE to use the sword in order to finally kill the Colossus. I've unlocked all the other secret weapons in Normal & Hard Mode, and they deal alot of more damage than the regular arrow and sword. And for example, the Harpoon of Thunder can damage a Colossus' health more than the regular arrow.

But still, I had to go and stab it's weak point to get the final blow to killing the Colossus. Also because the the arrow Wanderer uses when you first play the game, doesn't deal too much damage, only minorly. So an Arrows Only fight wouldn't work even with stronger weapons and it would take too long. The arrow is only used for distraction, attention, or minor temporary damage, not to kill. Thats what the sword is for lol.

no no no the sword is actually a sword of great power and that sword is the only way to kill a colossus and release its spirit and the sword is part of the spirit releasing ritual
