@afrotoad1 Nope! It is just a whole lot easier to draw because it's really similar to drawing with paper and pen. Otherwise, you can just use your mouse/touchpad to draw! However, it'll be a little more difficult and you may not be able to utilize pressure with your mouse.

@RealSweetShady You problem is that you're just clolring over it. (Like, over the lines.)

Use the magic wand tool and select the area you want to color, then color.

And after I'm done coloring the specific spot I colored, I click away and the spot I colored turns into a dark brown color instead of the one I used :/

@RealSweetShady Hm.. Okay, set the layer mode to multiply (its by the occupancy thingy) and color under it on a new layer. That usually works for me.

"Others". After that go to Digitzer Support, And theres the pressure settings.

Lets make something VERY CLEAR. This person isn't using a mouse. She is probablly using a drawing tablet. That is why she is able to make the end of the brush strokes like that, because these tablets have pressure sensitivity. You can NOT do this unless you have a drawing tablet, or perhaps a touch screen computer. The most popular tablets for this is from a company named Wacom. They have a variety of different tablets.

i have a question about the magic wand tool, i'm trying to use it like you do to select a section of the picture i want to color but it selects the entire picture and does not isolate a specific section. are there specific settings i need to have for it to isolate a part of the picture? is it done on a different layer than the line art? if you could answer this question i would greatly appreciate it

@Maplestaff Try changing the target to "All image" or "selection source," and if you choose selection source, make sure your lineart is also marked "selection source," which can be found above the layer box. :)

But what it does is if I reach the edged of the tablet of course I move back to the center,right? Well if I do, the pen moves! Is this supposed to happen? @fanfreak3399 I had the same problem too with mine. What I did was I went to the Wacom tablet website and installed the newest driver for my tablet model (you can look at the back of your tablet to check model type) It took a while to download, but it works now! :> Best of luck! <3

@LoveStarberrypatch If you have another layer for lineart and color, go to the line art layer, then you can fill it in on the color layer. If you dont use layers, make sure all your lines are closed

This might sound silly...but with the tablet, how are you writing fast? Mine is really slow...I know your video is sped up, but I've seen it with videos that aren't sped up.

@Ganstasareus Well, what i said was wrong, about the tablet settings. I tested it on MSPaint, and Paint.net, and both of them are fast, and not slow/laggy like the Sai one, so it must be a Sai setting we need to change

@x3Hartts I found the problem, if you look at like the top row right under the tool bar and right above the canvas part(sorry if that doesn't make any sense) you should see smoothing. if it's set to "s-" or it just has an s in front of it it'll drag behind some. so if you don't have an s in front of it it won't drag. sorry if that doesn't make sense at all! if you can't understand it I'll try to explain it better

@zinflexy If you didn't draw it in SAI, you have to make it transparent first. Go to "Layer" and look for either "Luminance to Transparency" or "Desaturate". That should probably do it. And don't forget that new layers are ALWAYS under the lineart-layer.

I dont know if you can help but I messed up my Blur tool and can't get it to how it was in the default. It's going way too smoothy and blurring rather than smudging like it used to....i've played around with the settings a lot and can't get it. It's just TOO blurry and smooth. I used to be able to rub it across a line and the line would carry through, etc, Idk if you understand what I mean but...I want it less smooth. Have tried all the settings, can't figure it out..

you can rotate, Select what you want with the Selection tool (Dotted line square box thing) then do Ctrl and t and it will let you rotate what you want, or just do Ctrl and t for the whole page =)
