I am sitting here and its 4 O´Clock in the morning. Can´t sleep. I listen to this wonderful performance and it makes me think about life in general, life and death , love , war, sadness and happiness. And I remember the time when I watched The Thin Red Line. The pictures of the children playing at the beach, the silence after the hill has been stormed. Great movie , my favorite war movie beside Black Hawk Down! Thumbs up !!

Man. Hans Zimmer's music really complemented the montage sequences in The Thin Red Line perfectly. A Terrence Malick film without music would still be a masterpiece in its own right, but with something like this playing in the background, it becomes something ineffable and emotionally vexing. This is also an absolutely perfect piano arrangement of the orchestral piece that appears in the film.
