Iphone / itouch crash ; how to get the white screen of death

"the sim card inserted in the iphone does not appear to be supported " is showing after i upgraded it from OS 3.1 to 4. now i cannot see my home screen plz plz plz help.. the screen is showing only emergency call... what to do?

@herefortheheckofit if u do 2many things like press 2 many apps in a short time the phone freezes up so when you take a screenshot the flash dosent go away and then when you turn it of and on it goes into a fake recovory mode. you just restart again to get it back to normla.

hey, all you have to do is hold the home button(the big round one) and the sleep button at the same time(button on the top)

mine wouldnt turn off you have to reset it search it on youtube its like hold the sleep/wake button and the home button for ten seconds or something like that then restore it in itunes
