You should also check out the video I made for the B-side of this version called "Hey Skinny". It's on my page, and is the most weirdest and unsettling piece of music that Sparks have composed.
interesting mix of a brilliant track. my personal favourite version is the 79 album track, with a long slow intro and then the mental fast bit...awesome!
How can you say this is better than the original. The original was great. It was upbeat, it had a great melody, it kicked arse. There doesn't seem to be any melody (or very little) in this version. This is just slow, dreary and dull. It's just boring more than anything. Give me the upbeat '79 version anyday.
What an awesome video! Absolutely brilliant! I prefer the original 1979 version but this remix is more suitable for the video (or the other way around). Thanks for putting it up zezombie!
Is this based on the sequence at the fair in The Thrid Man?

What can I say? Sparks = Sheer Pop genius.
Well done, Sparks, this ethereal version is better than the '79 version as it takes the song to another level.
Nice string arrangement, too ;)

Fantastic, Proof that a remix can surpass the original version. But you can't really compare the two. This has a gorgeous lush feel to it.

Une belle chanson sans doute. Ca me plait. Les freres Mael sont un peu bizarre mais en meme temps, ils sont surdoués

je te trouverai ça. Ce clip a fait l'objet d'un reportage dans le magazine SVM Mac fin des années 90. J'ai plus qu'à le retrouver -
