would love to see the series. You may laugh, but when speaking to my ex.told him he reminded me of Bertie; his response, but Bertie is a twit. My reponse was, yes....long silence pause. LOL
@bare to girl -- About Jeeves keeping Bertie single -- Bertie is a twit. Everyone knows it. Thus very few young women are interested in marrying him (and the few who are interested, are usually discouraged by their wise parents). So Bertie is left with amazons like Honoria Glossop or sops like Madeline Bassett, who have few choices themselves. Jeeves fends off these inappropriate ladies, leaving Bertie ... single.
@SamDLite I understand I am responding to a comment over a year old but I think you need to look into the history of Alcohol a little more. Monks did not invent mead or beer, they merely corporatised the production. I think you will find liqueurs like frangelico were invented in moasteries but beer is ancient and mead predates agriculture according to most experts.
@totaldreamer1 It is a term from the internet in reference to a relationship between two persons of the same gender, ie, two males, such as Jeeves and Wooster. The slash in question is taken from the habit of placing a forward slash between the two names of the pairing's members, that is, Jeeves/Wooster. The slash mentioned frequently in these comments is of the subtext variety.
10 Questions 1.Does Bingo fall in love every episode? 2.Why does Aunt Dahlia's actor change each season? 3.Why can't Bertie yell at Aunt "Curse of the Woosters" Agatha for once? 4.Does Jeeves know everything? 5.If Bertie hated his moustache, why'd he regrow it? 6.Who agrees that the first actor for Gus was a LOT better? 7.When did Spode sell Eulalie? 8.Why is Angela in main cast when she appeared in 2 eps? 9.How many "evil" guys there are? 10.How many seasons of JW have you watched?
so wait, whenever jeeves showed shock when wooster talked of getting married, it wasn't because he was afraid of losing Wooster but because he was the one who was interested in the same girl as Berty? I must have misunderstood something in the last phrases spoken by jeeves because all along I thought jeeves was trying to keep wooster by his side.
huh... am i the only one who thinks that the "understandings" that jeeves has with these ladies is trying to get them hitched to the men they want/deserve? seems to me that jeeves helped the cook get the guy she wanted and saved the girl from the ever vacillating regard of bingo little?
but yeah, jeeves vs, bingo, jeeves wins every time.
@LoramirOfGondor -- Regarding the prospect of Jeeves marrying : How many viewers have commented that they'd love to have their own Jeeves? Jeeves would only have to pull off one or two of his little coups and the girl would be proposing to HIM.
Wow. This episode has totally shaken my image of Jeeves. Smoking, drinking beer and playing darts in pubs, and running around with MULTIPLE young ladies...I am quite shocked. I'm trying to reconcile myself to having my mental image of my favorite gentleman's gentleman totally blown.
@captLizzie Monks invented mead and beer...do you really think the consumption of alcohol defines what a monk is. Besides, Bertie is always trying to get himself OUT of being engaged. This is the first episode where we've seen him trying to GET engaged. I think the only part of being a monk that he fails at is that of living a non-materialistic life :)
@baretoedgirl I'm not altogether surprised that Mr. Jeeves has reached such an understanding with more than one young lady, for, if I may say so, he has proven himself most exceptional, both as to capability and to character.
@huddyluver23 Yeah, it looks like everyone's favorite valet is one smooth operator! :D Wonder what would happen if all the young ladies he has 'an understanding' with found out about each other...the episode would be called "Prepare to Die, Jeeves!".
Jeeves you crafty bugger.

So Jeeves was actually upset about the horse-shoe tie because of its special significance to Mabel? I didn't understand that completely.
carrigallen98 7 months ago
@carrigallen98 No, it's just not proper for a gentleman to wear a novelty tie. It's enough to make Jeeves sick to his stomach, and rightly so!

I watched a couple of episodes on a different site, but I loved the comments too much on youtube! You guys are great. :)

I love how Bertie looks at Jeeves at 7:47, and then Jeeves does a little nod, like "Well, what did you expect?"

Damn, I would've loved to see Bertie trying to keep track of a multitude of little nieces.

I love how Bertie says "poor old Bingo!"... because there's no possibility that Bingo would win over Jeeves!!! Ha!

Surely Jeeves can't be seriously considering a relationship with the girl responsible for the horse-shoe tie...

@Meaju Ha, I never thought about that. Surely not!

Can anyone image Jeeves actually being romantic? Or proposing to a girl? He's so cool and formal and imperturbable.
"Pardon me, miss, but I fancy that a union between us of a matrimonial nature might be considered favorable in many respects..."

I like that on hearing that Bingo and Jeeves are both after the same girl, his immediate response is "oh, tough luck for Bingo." X)
Of course, there's no competition.

By the bye, this is one of the slashiest episodes I've seen yet! Jeeves so adamantly seems to want to keep Wooster single and to himself. ^_^
