this song helped me through a break up so much. when i heard it, it was like being given the remedy for a broken heart. saw john mayer live not to long ago. good to have soulful musicians this day in age still
Our music now a day sucks ass. John Mayer is bringin back the style that any age can appreciate and bringing back the styles of Stevie Ray Vaughn and Hendrix. He's doin music a favor.
But I think there are at least two different audiences for his music; those who like him for his pop mentality and those who like him for his appreciation of the blues, oldies, and other classics as well as modern styles. Like all musicians, there are those who like him and those who don't. If you don't appreciated his music, that's fine, but I wonder why you hang around making a big deal about it. I don't hover around the Creed fan sites, trolling the forums.
I can't wait to taste your shit sandwich. John Mayer, no matter what you think about him, is a very good guitarist at the very least. If you don't think he has any business playing the blues, that's your own personal opinion.
Sorry but this faux white man blues shit is for the birds. Do you know how many real blues men can do this 100 times better than this white bread phony, but never get a chance because their hair isn't as cool?
If you think this guy is honestly as good as they hype him to be then I got a delicious shit sandwich recipe I want you to try.
Take two slices of bread put some shit in between them... enjoy!
As far as JM, I kind of dig him. He can play, and he's using his popularity with the kiddies to display some real emotion and damn goood guitaring. And anything that is getting people eaten out and making chicks lose theior virginity is al right by me. However, this is not really groundbreakingwork. Sticking some new lyrics on a 60 year old R & B song does not exactly make you Mozart.
Lou Rawls? Come on, newbies. They Call it Storymy Monday (But Tuesday is Just as Bad)is a T-Bone Walker song from the '40s.
I'm not sure this song fits the strict definition of blues anyway- It's not a straight 12 bar I-IV-V blues tune anyway. More like Early Ray Charles R & B (check out "Hard Timees")
I won't mind if my girlfriend loves john more than she loves me.. ;p
